I know quite a few of you are involved.

I've just decided to become Chairman of the club I'm involved in.

I wondered if any of you can suggest ways to:

A: Attract coaches
B: Attract Players
C: Raise income

Cheers

Is it Saturday or Sundays?

Oh ok wow. I mean I know a few people who have run clubs without youth setups (because of the cost of the licence) but if you want it to be youth driven I'd recommend emailing Woodbridge Town or Bury St Edmunds FC (both from Suffolk but dominate the youth leagues feeding to mens first team, also where I come from) They both hold excellant history in this and would be more than happy to help in terms of funding streams advice and how to layout the club. Out of interest, where are you based? And what level (league) is the first team mens saturday team?

Northern Cottager

I am really looking to get into coaching myself and want to take my coaching badges but I have failed ot find any club close to Preston that offers a spot after I've taken them and don't know who to get in touch with.

In terms of funding for yourself if you have any queries let me know. I work in Online Marketing/ Events Management and have loads of stuff that could be helpful from the smallest of events all the way up to the grandest scale as well as all aspects of online and offline marketing that could be of use to you for spreading the word/ awareness etc.

After the experience ive had being involved on the exec comitee at (you know the club) I'd say youre a brave man Bedsffc

I wondered if any of you can suggest ways to:

A: Attract coaches
do the club pay for / towards coaching badges / youth awards etc?

B: Attract Players
Offer 'open coaching days' for anyone to come along where you do a massive session (coerver touches, drills) followed by games. Target young players - do you do a pay and play for U6's before they tier off top teams?

C: Raise income
run your own tournament,
Get a deal up with a kit supplier and have your own online shop where you make money from training wear, bags, umbrellas, hats etc with the Beds Panthers logo on. You then get a percentage (if you want any more info give me a shout, its something I got quite far with before quitting due to certain coaches not willing to change).

Kell

Maybe an ad in the non league paper, In kids footie the parents are normally up for it, In senior football have a look for managers or coaches who have recently left clubs, They normally are looking for a quick return

Best way would be to contact Beds county fa, most county fa have a coaches association and put on sessions to their members, and also send out info about coaching roles so this is definitely the best option, try surrounding counties FA's aswell

B: Attract Players

Get posters made up and ask to put them into local schools, also in shop windows etc, has the league your in got a players wanted section on their website?

C: Raise income

As Leon said, most clubs major fund raising is a club tournament, these are usually done inthe summer months, takes alot of organising but can be profitable

What you need when fundraising is good people who are prepared to put their time in to help out.

Ask each team to get sponsors from companies

Each team can then also do their own fundraising like bag packing at a local supermarket

Good luck within your new role

Don't be scared to listen to new ideas  and most importantly make sure all managers, kids and parents adhere to the respect campaign

Are you a chartered standard club?
