Joins Everton on a season long loan Deal..... ahhhhhhhh I knew he would be available (Shame we used up our domestic loan signings before this )

I think he is Chelseas best striker, and should be starting imo.... we missed a trick massively here..... Gutted

God The Mechanic

Kenwright's relationship with his agent apparently tipped the deal in his favour.  If that's the case, I'd be VERY surprised if he'd move to Fulham over Everton.

If thats the case then we would have had no chance..... but what fantastic business by Everton.... whoever got Lukaku was laughing.  Just gutted it wasnt us, as he was the one player I was harping on about all window.

So you think he is Chelsea's best striker so by that statement you must also think you are a better judge of a player than Jose?
So tell us, what team in the Champions League do you manage (not including Football Manager or FIFA 13 on the PS3)?

Forever Fulham

He's clearly quality, and I don't understand Mourinho letting him go out on loan like that.  Can they recall him at any time?  Or not until the end of the season at the earliest?

Their best striker? I think Eto'o is their best striker...

Was there any need for such a sarcastic response JBH????

If you look I said Imo, which means "in my opinion".... If I seem to recall he was banging them in pre season for Chelsea, he was ridicliously good for WBA. Unfortunately I think mourinho will hold him responsible for his Super cup penalty miss, and they have an owner who makes the manager play Torres ( for what its worth he is a top quality striker )  but I feel Lukaku offers more, in particular to the way Chelsea play.

You would think that rather than splash more money on Etoo who again in my opinion is not the same player he was 3 years ago, would give their young, exciting striker who has bags of potential and proven in the premier league a chance.

As for Ba well he is another quality striker who would be starting for the majority of premier teams but I feel Lukaku is better than him as well... Would be interested in seeing some stats on goals per game ratio for all the players mentioned above

Obviously Mourinho sees things differently but as I said it is my opinion.... Lets see how the season progresses before you get on your high horse

They got Eto'o on a free so only paying his wage, which he took £150k wage cut to join Chelsea. With Torres, Eto'o and failure to move on Demba Ba I think the best thing for Lukaku is to go on loan, especially as it's World Cup year. He is still young, he's still learning. He will be a top striker for Chelsea in the next couple of seasons. Why not send him out somewhere where he'll get a lot more football? Also, no doubt they have a 24 hour call back clause.

Just wish we had gone for him, better paying for that loan than one for Bent.

West Brom waited in the hope of signing him on loan too.

They ended up buying Sessegnon at the last minute when Everton nipped in for him.

So perhaps it was better not to wait.
It could be better, but it's not a fantasy:

It seems Lukaku's goals to games ratio is worse than any of the other Chelsea strikers....

That being said lets look at the facts;

1) He is 20 years old and is obviously continuing to develop
2) He is a different type of striker to Ba and Etoo, where he does everything ( drogba esque) and the other two are poachers.
3) The other players have played for better teams than lukaku, so goals are easier to come by for a striker

Firstly I agree he needs to be starting, my point was I couldnt understand Chelsea not giving him a chance.... Etoo was the highest paid player in the world earning 375,000 a week at Anzhi, so he is now on 225,000 a week which works out at 11.7 million.... not bad for a player of Etoos quality, but they didnt need him and I honestly dont think the current etoo is better than what they already have.

Lets see how the season pans out

Sessegnon is not a bad player for wba, not a great player but not a terrible one either.... They could have certainly done worse (Carlton cole / chemakh etc)

Wba biggest issue was losing odemwingie, whilst I hate his attitutde he is a good footballer, and I think they will miss him

He's 20 years old he would have never got a game for us we would have loaned him to loan him out again to get experience

Haha good point.... far too young for us

I have to agree with deano here. Imo Mourinho blames Lukaku for the missed pen loss, (he had a go at him on the pitch after the game which I thought was terrible). He would have got a hatful fed by Hazard, Oscar and Mata.
Siblings, let us not be down on it.

Still glad he didn't go to Wba tho. For one he'd have scored against us and we need to start out winning streak next game  :005:. I have bet on Wba for relegation this season, (as they no longer have Lukaku to carry them). They had a dreadful end to the season, prob worse than ours IMO and Clarke couldn't change it at all. So quite pleased they didn't get him. Sessingyon is good but nowhere near as dangerous as Lukaku. Coyw

I don't understand why WBA sold Shane Long either? Can see them going down and Hull staying up now.
