25 man squad

Hangeland, Amorebieta,  Hughes,  Senderos
Riise,  Briggs, Richardson
Duff,  Dejagah,  Kasami
Karagounis,  Parker,  Sidwell,  Boateng
Kacaniklic,  Taarabt
Berbatov,  Ruiz,  Rodallega,  Bent, Dempsey

I can't see Bent or Taarabt returning to there clubs. I can see Boateng moving with Dempsey coming in leaving us with 24 players so unless Berbatov leaves in January I really can't see Rene making many changes to the squad, although I do believe with the current squad Rene will keep us up!

But there's nothing stopping us from, say, signing 5 new payers and only letting 2 go. Then the club can just take the 2 players least likely to play off the 25 man list so I don't think we should read to much into that list to be honest.

to be honest all we need is a better lm and a good striker if berbatov leaves.
i believe our defence will improve when hangeland returns and our midfield is already good

Briggs I don't think counts on our 25 man squad because he came through our academy

If football manager is correct then players who were under the age of 21 before 1/1/13 don't need to be registered as part of the squad. Not sure if any of our younger lads (Kasami?) fit into that category but if so we may have some extra spaces?

Unless Hangeland is going to return fit I think we need to look at signing a CB,  if Boateng goes we will need another central midfielder, hopefully players like David & Dembele can start to break in our squad now

Briggs I don't think counts on our 25 man squad because he came through our academy

He definitely counts as he is over 21. The whole home-grown status thing means that we have to have a certain number of home-grown players in our 25. Only players 21 and under don't count I believe.

We have a 24 man squad including Etheridge and Briggs. Kasami is young enough to be excluded.

If, after January we end up with more than 25 players the surplus will no doubt be loaned out to lower league clubs.

Taarabt and Bent complete our allocation of domestic loanees. To get more we have to either send them back (if allowed) or sign one or both permanently.

Not that it's 100% reliable....but on Football Manager you can terminate both Bent and Taarabt's loans!

RM made a point of saying "if we get him back" in yesterday's interview. Makes me wonder if there are continued problems or if they just don't know yet.

I personally hope we don't count on him and get right to addressing our defensive issues. If he makes it back healthy.....gravy.

The latest medical report on Hangeland is of importance, unless we can be sure of him returning fully fit in the next 4 weeks then our top priority has to be signing a premiership ready central defender without delay.

We have shipped more goals than any other club in the premiership, this indicates relegation in big bold print.

As I've said before, Newcastle centre half, Stephen Taylor is available, perfect short term answer, knows the Premier League inside out, and can hit the ground running, as we don't have enough games left for an overseas signing to come and take 6 or 7 games to find his feet .

I thought players coming through the academy because they were 'home grown'.

So wouldn't that mean that Ryan Giggs would go on the list, but some unknown 18 year old from Azerbaijan who signs for Arsenal wouldn't. Doesn't make sense
