We need to stop playing 2 wide men that and really central players. We have no width going forward except our full backs and the more the game goes on the more open we our for the diagonal (corner flag ball)

but for that to happen rene must finally dump sidwell and parker, which I hoped was his plan when he signed kvist and holtby but alas no
CHRIS MARTIN IS SO BAD,  WE NOW PRAISE HIM FOR MAKING A RUN.

I think that *will* be the plan going forwards.  But they've had two training sessions max since signing, and the other players signed weren't eligible to play.  Not really sure what could have been done centrally to make a difference.

Duff is a waste of time now, Dempsey looks like a failed experiment and Bent is back up at best.  I imagine a very different team/set up against Man Utd.

Why Duff? Kasami should have started. Someone has to tell Reither that he is a defender first. Leaving your CB's to chase wingers in open play is a recipe for  a 3 nil defeat. What a let down after the glow of yesterday.  :031:
Its not that I could and others couldn't.
Its that I did and others didn't.

Absolutely right, Dejagah needs to return. The problem is on the left side, we don't really have anyone apart from Duff that will track back and Duff is average going forward.

But there was no problem on the left today.  The first two goals came down the right flank, after that it was over.

Very true, Brede was constantly being dragged out to our right.

Bred also NEEDS to stop showing inside so close to goal

Baszab

Riether pushed up too much on second half to try and make width - he was hopelessly out of position - Hangeland defended poorly and Richardson (apart from a couple of tackles ) was really sub-Premier standard - Dempsey not tracking back didn't help either - but we only really had 10 men if you discount Bent - lost their shape when first goal went in as they always seem to do - RM was furious when the first goal went in

The only time Riether doesn't do this is when he is with Dejagah from out current squad. It doesn't work with Kasami, Holtby not did it with Ruiz ahead of him.

As for Bent 1st half he was decent. Made very good runs off the shoulder and even brought people into play.
Problem is we are obvious once a decent coach sees our weakness in that particular game it's all over. 2nd half we had ran out of ideas.
The only person on the bench to offer summit different would have been Kaca. The rest of the subs were no different to what we had already On the pitch. Dejagah has to start.

JackyFulham90

Why Dejagah never started today is beyond me

"THEY" seem to start Dejagh against the better sides when the prospect of getting anything is almost non existant. But when we should be playing him in more winnable games, we dont see him. Best example of this was SUnderland home recently. Looked at the team before kickoff and feared the worst. Same yesterday, HOLTBY is a class number 10, so why push him out wide when we have others who are more effective there and stop him from doing what he can do in his proper position.  Smaks of too many people having input into selecion and having to reach a compromise. This results in no one persons vision of how the team should play coming through.  IMO this is effecting the players as they cannot see a valid game plan that they can buy into.

Your post makes no sense, we don't play wide men and that is the problem, when Alex and " MIck" play left and right wing we play so much better as we did v Spurs and Villa. Since Wilkins came in that has all gone out the window and we back to narrow all down the middle play again

Spot on

I am a bit sheel shocked by the goings on this season, but my recollection of any good performances this season has been when we attacked from wide with pace.
So, no Kaca or Dejagah no threat

Ok. Players that have been appointed wide positions yet realistically are central playèrs. holtby, Kasami, Ruiz before them!! I'm not sure u have read my entire post at I am saying we should be starting with Dejagah and Kaca players that start wide and are natural wide men. They will stay wide and not be pulled into the middle leaving our full backs with no attacking options or defensive protection.

Edit - my original post was meant to say - we need to stop playing wide men that are really central players!! (Kasami, Holtby, Ruiz before them and even Dempsey)
