Good afternoon Fulham fans. Hope everyone is staying positive after last night. I need to speak to Fulham fans of 20 years or longer, as I am doing a dissertation for my University Degree. You may remember me posting before, and I got 250 replies to the first survey I carried out which is incredible, and I cant thank those of you who answered it enough. The second part of my survey is aimed at Fulham fans who were following Fulham during the 1996 season, as I am examining the Identity of Fulham football club, from 1996 to the present era. If you were supporting Fulham during this season, and have two minutes to spare, if you could fill out my survey again I would be very grateful. Thanks for reading, the link to the survey is beneath. It is completely anonymous and there is no need for any personal information just to put any fears at ease!!

Done.

I wonder how many others will put Torquay 2-1 Fulham as the abiding memory of this season?

Ha ha............... I read the first post without seeing Burt's comment and went straight to the survey and Burt guess what............Torquay away was it for me!! What a day that was!! Did Corey Browne break his leg that day as well or was that another visit to Torquay, I cannot quite remember!

I remember Corey Brown being a huge prospect for us, for some reason Exeter springs to mind about him getting injured or was Exeter one of the few games he played in

The old memory has gone

Torquay away is certainly an iconic game in Fulham's history; despite the travelling support that day numbering around the 250 mark, it seems as if many more than that claim to have been at this landmark match.

I've not seen more than 250 members from FOF claim that they were at Torquay, just a handful, so they are possibly genuine. Bit of an overstatement there I'd say..

Done, although I expect these memories may cause me nightmares and insomnia  :005:

Nor have I; I was reflecting on 18 years of having heard or seen it mentioned in one form or another. And I agree that, over such a lengthy time span, it would be very easy - human nature, even - to overestimate the number of occasions on which I have heard or seen it mentioned. For this reason, I sought to temper my observation with the introduction: 'it seems as if'.

So, yes, I cannot say with any certainty that it is not an overstatement. Still, it's hardly the most far-fetched remark to have been made on this forum.

For me I think it would have to be the home game against Scunthorpe on a wet midweek evening where I think we lost 3-1 and the crowd was 2,136 ish - our lowest ever for a league game ?? God I was depressed that night on the way home.
