We won't bounce back at the first attempt

That's for a dead cert. The clear out, or so called rebuild, will be to big of a job to complete in one season, and it'll take one hell of a manger to do it. To add, we've got a bunch of owners who look completely out of their depth. Sad state of affairs today, bailed out without a whimper, not even a fight, and the majority of that squad will still expect Premiership football next season. I hope they rot in hell.

Pluto

Yep no chance. We literally need to get rid of the entire senior squad bar about five or six players, plus the manager and CEO.

Logicalman

Logical is just in the name - don't expect it has anything to do with my thought process, because I AM the man who sold the world.

Macedo

Yes  no chance with this gutless lot.
They would do a Wolves if same team next season..

I said this season will see a part of this club die and today it certainly did - we'll never be back

so what, I don't really care what league we are in. no matter what happens we can not be as bad to watch as we were this season. even if we go down again it wont be as poor as this one.

Well today a very poor squad was left in tatters through illness and a bug. By not slowly replacing players with better players we have a squad that need a complete overhaul. If we are honest none of the present side except for the kids will be a loss. But will Khan put that much money into the side.

I fear we may struggle for some time. I fear we will do a Charlton before we do anything special.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Northern Cottager

It's a catch 22, did we want to stay up and keep half of this squad or do we take relegation on the chin and hope they all take a hole and we build for a proper future? I've just left the ground and I'm devastated that we had no fight, not one ounce but I'm excited that done right and with the financial backing Khan provides we may have a good future.

Peabody

I can say ,yup we will be back and you can say we will never return. The truth is, until we start the new season, none of us know, it's all conjecture.

What is a fact, is if Felix stays or if someone  comes in, next seasons side will look nothing like this seasons. Changes are acoming.

The Rock

It depends on what happens this summer - there is no way to know. I am worried that Kahn will go missing though so I'd tend to agree with you and I'd think at the moment our chances are that we get relegated rather than promoted next season.

Nightwind15

Totally agree, time for the youth to take over and build for the future.  I just hope that in the future we do not allow the old guys to stay around too long again.
I played in the first match I ever saw!

the old guys we had were not the problem. selling good young ones and replacing them with even older ones was. you need a couple of experienced players who have been around for a bit, but buying players over 32 when you have enough olds of you own is what it is.

Well, what a way to be positive. Why even create a thread saying we won't bounce right back up. There is no way to know that. If we clear out the deadwood and start fresh, we have just as good a chance as any team in the championship.

I don´t care which division we are in. I am Fulham through & through. It has been in my blood since 1954 & will be till my last breath. I have so many treasured moments & I am convinced there will be more to come. Still believe.

We need a statement from Khan, a real positive message. Be it about the stadium development, (although additional seats won't be required in the short term), significant funds being available this summer, his long term commitment, I don't know really. But something to improve the outlook, because right now things look bleak.

I said we'd get relegated this season, before it even started. I said we'd lose 3-0 today in a must win game, and although I got it wrong, it was still a 3 goal deficit. Without blowing my own trumpet, I'm not a fool when it comes to football, the job in hand is to big, Fulham have been neglected for far to long. We'll bounce back, but not at the first attempt, sorry.

At least nobody has said "we don't expect to be in the second division very long" 092.gif

I have no doubt you know your football, but why be negative and say we won't bounce back up. It's been done plenty times before. Yes, I know it's a tough task, but next season is a new chapter.

Strange to think, as we pick over the debris of a season that has been little better than a horror show, that I feel that Sparky has been completely vindicated in his assessment of the situation, because he knew the state of the club from the inside and saw the inevitable outcome as it has panned out today.........and what my (and our) opinion of him was when he left.

Strange how motives can be seen in a new light when the whole story unfolds !

A fuller story has yet to emerge when we find out Khan's response - and therefore ulterior motive - when he either gets to hear or even realises what has finally occurred today.

...and yet fuller when Magath gets to talk about relegation as reality, rather than that published load of tripe on an almost double page spread in the Mail today
