Great bloke, but not the top class keeper we need.

I'd take Stockdale in a heartbeat. He's better than he's ever been and he has gotten more real time experience than just about anyone sitting behind our back four. 20-30 shots on goal a game helps with your development I can imagine! Would be gutted if we lost him, and I think unless someone comes in for him he will stay.

interesting that the only point that they have cut/edited the video is at 1.12, when asked about dissecting what went wrong... he says "hard to say... mistakes (video cuts)" clearly taken out some of his interview

Maybe we should start a thread that is: finish Stockdale's interview with what you would have said (after "mistakes...."). My starting contribution would be .....like playing Burn at right back (worst positional choice of the season) or spending £12million for a striker who is unable to play for a half-a-match in the critical last phase of the season (worst transfer of the season).
It may have been a weird decision but maybe he was worried about combatting Crouch's aerial prowess after last weeks performance and went with height, the rumour on sky and among the Stoke fans was that Assaidi was not fit, Hughes called it right and went with pace and wing play.  Can't remember one long high ball by Stoke.Their first goal was an even poorer  decision decision by our left back , another of many extremely poor defensive decisions made throughout the season. Allowing a player the opportunity to come past him along the line 6 yards from goal...very poor.

He's not your typical flash footballer, I have a lot of time for Stockdale. Assuming he stays we have a cracking 'keeper for next season.
Why who have we signed????

Pathetic.

A very decent man.  He has grown on me as a keeper too.

Sometimes i think we put down players that are not good enough by saying they don't care, i am sure they do if only for their own pride. The whole team has had a shocking season, and i say again it does not mean they do not care.

Sadly she wasn't

At least Stockdale has a heart and felt our pain

Great bloke, but not the top class keeper we need.

Top class keepers are not going to be queuing up to join a championship club. Stockdale will be in the top three keepers in the championship next season.

Stockdale was the only player I saw yesterday pumped up before the game and utterly distraught after it.

The body language from the outfield players in the warm up was all wrong and many could not make eye contact with the 3,000 travelling supporters.  Sidwell's interview on MotD confirmed my suspicions that the journeymen, aged, past it dead wood had thrown the towel in after capitulating against Hull last week.

We have far more bigger problems than to think about replacing a very very good goalkeeper that is committed to the club and not an over ego superstar badge kissing until he gets a better offer or collects his pension.  10x more Stockdale's please

Stockdale is a top keeper, he'd be my first name on the team sheet, this video also shows he cares for our club and us, top top man in my book

Absolutely agree. I think he has been poorly treated by management since Mark left, and to some extent before, and one of the plus points for Felix is that he has recognised that Stockers is our best keeper.

We need to strengthen all over the park before wondering whether we should be in the market to try to improve on Stockers.

stockers and hetinga have been the stand out performers for me.
stockers is avery good keeper and i am amazed at so many critics.
Under felix he has really blossomed.. but the rest of the team have let him down. I hope he remains our number one because it will be hard to find better.
oh and his obvious distress was heart warming.

Burt

Bless him...

He's had a tough season, what with Stek initially getting the nod over him and with the worst defence in the league in front of him.

Very honest, heart-felt interview.

Top man.

Massive fan of Stockdale before watching this video.... Now I want him to be our captain and led our boys back to promotion.

Hope he is here for many years to come, top bloke and a very decent keeper to boot

He is a top bloke - I'll be gutted if he is not our No1 next season. Stek can depart for somewhere else. I'm amazed Stockdale still has such feeling for the club considering the way the club has chosen to use him since he joined us - perpetual No2 or out on loan even, not keeping his place even after playing well. He will be one of, if not the top keeper in the Championship (provided he is kept) and he proved his ability with Hull when they went up. I like him, I've always liked him, young keeper will get better and better. Has really done his best in this run in with terrible defending in front of him.
