We won't bounce back at the first attempt

We don't know what will happen, but hopefully we will bounce back, with Khan's backing.

Sorry I do not agree.  Lamblast me for saying that also.

Fulham will be the BRAZIL of the Championship, our team was "too good to go down" yet it did.

Our owner is a MULTI-BILLIONAIRE and has already invested in the team.  He was only let down by Ali Mack, but not by his own ambitions for the club.

Therefore, Fulham's salaries will be the highest in the lower league and should retain the players we wish to keep, which many other relegated teams could not or would not sustain.

I would like to see Sidwell sign for another two years to begin with and we need a decent goalkeeper.
Dear God
I'm actually  cheered up by one of "his" posts.....that's what happens when you drink whiskey in the morning.....

I agree Admin and under the current owner I think it is more likely we will get relegated again rather than win promotion. I dared have a go at khan the other day and was pretty much shot down. One poster said how superior he will be to the 'chicken feeders at blackburn' as the poster put it. Well in my mind there is nothing between them. They have both made dreadful decisions resulting in relegation from the Prem. At least the chicken feeders have Rhodes and in my opinion will easily finish above us next season.

I find this amazing, "under the current owner I think it is more likely we will get relegated again rather than win promotion"  for goodness sake the guy has only just got here, he has been reliant on what MAF told him and the current management structure and that means all management not just AM.

I hope you're are right but there is completely no evidence to suggest we will suddenly change. We can only go on how the club has been run to date. I work on facts not on hopes. We will see over the next few months if he is going to start doing things correctly.

The club has been run in EXACTLY the same fashion as it was under Mo for the last three years, Khan even tried to put out fires in January by spending big.  Had Mo been chairman when this happened would you have been so critical of the ownership?

Looking at the Championship teams that have clinched promotion they have one thing in Common 2 players that score, the rest of the team can be average but get two on fire strikers you ca get out. I think Rodellaga and Mitroglou with Woodrow in reserve are 10 times better than either the Leicester, Burnley and Derby pairings, with a few astute purchase and a couple of the U21's grabbing their opportunity we could have a very exciting season next year. Khan did what he could, even Fayed didn't underwrite ctravel and cheap tickets to away games, he has my vote COYW

I'm expecting Mitroglou to have a relegation release clause.

Fulham Joe

"I hope they rot in hell"

So by making that statement you obviously know that as well as getting Fulham relegated, they commited a few axe murders in their spare time.
You might be admin but that is a bloody ridiculous thing to say, and I'm sure that when you think about it you will realise that.

Yep no chance. We literally need to get rid of the entire senior squad bar about five or six players, plus the manager and CEO.
and the clueless owner.

Denver Fulham

Anything is possible, but it's much (much, much) more likely that we'll be in the Championship for 5+ years than bouncing back to the Prem next season. Very few teams go right back up, and when they do, it's generally a bigger club that had one year of bad luck/injuries.

We have been awful for the better part of two seasons and have to clear out almost the entire first team. We're going to be integrating 15+ new players into the squad between buys and promotion from our youth program. It's going to take some time, and if the parachute payments run dry, it gets that much harder.

Clubs like Cardiff knocked on the door for half a decade before finally winning promotion (and went right back down). It's really, really hard to earn promotion. There are a lot of decent clubs -- Birmingham, Middlesboro, Bolton, Blackburn, etc -- that aren't even close to getting back several years into the process.

But few clubs have had as long as we've had in the top tier.  Let alone got to a European final.  I think we will still have a fair amount of pull, especially if Khan shows he is willing to spend money.

We need to unearth a few more foreign players on the rise, like we did 13/14 years ago.

Bolton, Blackburn, Birmingham, Charlton, Wigan, Reading might disagree with that

We've had more that all except Blackburn and Bolton, in the PL era that is.  Blackburn basically ate themselves from the inside, and Bolton got rid of Allardyce.

b+w geezer

The lower standard lowers the difficulty, but the fact remains that promotion requires a season that's better than 20+ rivals -- an experience foreign to virtually everyone at the club now. So an infusion of a few recent `winners' will be essential, even if where they've been used to winning is Championship at best.

Yep, agree with all of that. Let's at least enter The Championship with some optimism. We have one of the most experienced Managers in Europe and one of the richest owners in the world. Yooooou wwhiiites!
English by birth, Fulham by the grace of God.

No point in giving up before the season has even started - well, before this season has even ended, though it has for us effectively.

Let's give Khan a chance, and Magath as manager - or whoever, if he leaves. But if we don't have hope, then what's the point......?

There are many  reasons for positivity at Fulham - a rich new owner keen to make a name for himself, top youth squad and coach, top European manager.

Deanothefulhamfan

I think we have a very good chance of bouncing back at the first attempt.

I believe in our Chairman, and I believe in our academy... we will be favourites to go up next season imo

It may take a couple of seasons to get back - maybe reaching the play-offs next season. I've been going to see our youth team play, and there are some outstanding players with great potential but I agree with Admin on here, that they may not be ready to play on a continuous basis throughout the year; however, in my view Woodrow, David and Passley from the U-21s can make it straight in to the 1st team. We do need an experienced, quality new left back. I would play Mitroglou at the start of the new season - if he doesn't show the quality that we need and expect from him, I would loan him out. Woodrow can deliver up front. Bring back Trotta for an opportunity from the bench. In midfield we need a creative play-maker with leadership qualities, of the  Murphy type. To start the season, I would stick with Hangeland, partnered by Heitzinger if he stays, or I would  give Arthurworry an opportunity. Burn to deputise for Hangeland and groomed as a future captain. Cole should be given an opportunity on left of midfield ahead of Richardson. We should hold on to Ruiz, only to play behind the striker - he may work well with Woodrow or Dembele.... I think Mitroglou may lack pace.

So - we need at least two new players: a left back and creative midfield player with experience and leadership qualities. I believe we have enough young and established players elsewhere to do the job if we retain Riether, Heitzinger, Brede, Deja, Sidwell, Richardson, Kaca, Ruiz and Rodders.

But that is the problem. Mo knew he was going to sell and consequently he stopped investing new money. Had he stayed on he would have known that new money was needed for the team. Khan should have done better due diligence. When investing £200M of his own money he should have done his own research not just believed what he was told by Mo and Mo's staff (Ali Mac).

Exactly! It is amazing how much slack Khan is given. He must be wet behind the ears if he fell for the flannel Mo probably gave him. Good luck to Mo, he is a business man.

This issue with me is that I will not be able to watch a match on the tube until we come back into the Prem.  I am bound now to watching live streams on shady internet sites.
I played in the first match I ever saw!
