OK so every year me and a couple of boys at work have some sort of endurance challenge to see who gets to be the alpha male for the year. It generally involves something stupid that hurts and will cost us later on in life. But this year thanks to bovile on talk sport, we will be having a scorpion chilli off. Now I don't normally eat hot food and this bad boy is meant to be one of the hottest in the world. Has anyone tried this, what can I expect and what is best to neutralise it when it gets too much

Get a couple of the chillies and crush them a fine as you can then put the paste onto you index finger and shove it right up your bum, alternatively you could put a poker in a fire and when its red hot stick that in said bottom.

That should give you some idea what to expect.

I'd imagine bathing in milk for the next week will probably help cool you down.  If not then... I think it's all over.

fulhamben

Lol, so are we saying that I should duck this and just put up with the abuse for a year

Milk or ice cream should help but they won't remove the pain entirely. The TMI answer is that there is a protein in dairy called casein that in some way bonds with and washes away excess capsaicin (the stuff that burns). However, the capsaicin that has already contacted the flesh of your mouth will still cause burning and must be endured.

If the Trinidad Scorpion pepper is any where near Habanero then you're in for some pain for sure. If it's somewhere in between Habanero and Ghost, well, I wish you luck. Will the pepper be a fresh one or a dried one?

I used to go to a pizza place that made both a fresh Habanero pizza and a dried Ghost pepper pizza. I tried the fresh Habanero and loved it - delicious. I cried uncontrollably the entire time I was eating it. That's when I decided that Habanero was hot enough for me. I don't go any further.

Sgt Fulham

It tastes nice and isnt hot. 2 at a time is optimum in terms of taste. Good luck ;).

well according to wiki, the habanero has a scoville rating of 550,000 where as the scorpion comes in at 1,460,000 scovilles. So the scorpion is nearly 3 times hotter than the habanero

Wash your hands before you pee...
....and don't, repeat DON'T, rub your eyes. I did once. Cried me a river......

This is an absolute must. Under no circumstances get your hands near your eyes if you wish to be able to see some matches this weekend.
Its not that I could and others couldn't.
Its that I did and others didn't.

I've had Blair's Ultra Death Sauce, and that's only 800k scoville units.  But it hurts.
