who should our new manager be if magath goes?

Fulham 442

Sherwood wouldn't come to us, Hoddle turned down Palace to stay at QPR, Symons and Murphy don't have the experience we need, McKay ruled out for obvious reasons.  Chris Hughton would be a good shout.  Do hope Felix goes soon, things can only get worse under him.  I was prepared to give him time but then last night was the first game I attended this season and feel he needs to go now - we were just dire.

We have to give this manager a fare run , we can't keep on and on changing but having said that I don't know how long for.

What happens if after the next two games we  still have no points and have not scored another goal ?

I really think before the window closes money will have to be spent on a couple of proven players , in particular a midfield playmaker to play alongside Parker.

Fulham 442

Moyes wouldn't come - he can sit and wait for a job he wants after his ManU pay off.  Lee Clark hasn't done very well at Birmingham!  They stayed up by the skin of their teeth last season.

I Like DM but not as manager yet, come in as assistant to the next guy. my choice would be Hoddle

Despite what we might feel about our prospects, it might not be too easy to attract a decent manager to a team languishing at the bottom of the Championship!

I think the squad and club needs Unity and i think danny would bring it. You say we only have 6 players plus the under 21s that's only because you have forgotten about all the player Felix has frozen out. Even if they want a move away im sure they will still play for us given the chance with a manager who is reasonable. I think felix has the right idea with his youth policy but I dont think they way he is doing it chopping and changing every will work.

Surprised noone has mentioned Eddie Howe - has worked miracles at Bournemouth and his stock is rising massively at the moment. Would be perfect for us but I suspect he'll be snapped up by a PL club soon.

Other options I'd consider:

Moyes (probably wouldnt come?)
Hughton
Clarke
McDermott
Sherwood (loose cannon?)
Hoddle (out of the game too long?)
Lennon (less than reputable character?)
Rene Meulensteen (would never come back)

Would be delighted with any of the above but Howe would be a steal.

add Zola to the list, did well with Watford.

Mike Phelan and Rene Meulensteen.

I like that suggestion the most.  Under RM Fulham played the BEST football in many years - he was slightly distracted by appointing the "wise-heads" of Curbishley and Wilkins, then got them on track just before he was dismissed (V Man.Utd & Liverpool).

Of course, admitting they got it wrong does not seem to be in the remit of Ali Mack, so the decision must come from Khan himself.  He should also dismiss AM of his duties, systematically ruining the club I have supported all these years.

I can't believe an American became a multi-billionaire by sheer luck, and yanks have a tough reputation in football.

If not RM then I would like Hoddle as his approach is similar to Fulham's style, with Danny Murphy working alongside.

Yeah  agreed on howe he's done a fantastic job at Bournemouth. A future England manager one day. Not sure his Mrs would let him leave though when he was at Burnley she was so fed up she phoned the Bournemouth chairman and pleaded with him to put an offer in for him and bring him back.

Him aside I'm really not sure Mcleish would be realistic and would bring some much needed defensive solidity, hughton knows how to get out of the league. I'd probably go with promoting kit knows the youngsters and atleast we would for a long time have a manager to be proud of

Moyes has recently said that he wants to manage a team in the Champions League because he has recently had experience of that level. I think that rules us out.

Why do people think Rene would come back? This business is very ego driven, Ali Mac and Khan would not bring back Rene as it admits a mistake. I agree sacking him was a mistake, this thread may as well be taken down as we will have to wait at least another 5/6 games before Felix gets the chop in my opinion

Probably does rule a Championship side out.......for now. But really, what Champions League club is he planning on running? He's not going to get an English one. It's doubtful he'd be given a shot in any of the major continental leagues at a CL contender.

And why would Rene come back even if they admitted a mistake? He couldn't possibly trust that his career would be safe at Fulham going forward.

..Kya.ffc..

That's what I didn't get when we sacked Rene Meulensteen.
I genuinely thought we bought him in with a view on this season and most likely championship football. If he did manage to save us then great, but we where sinking and in reality nothing would have saved us.
I think he would have been the right one for us, especially if we went down as we did. He will not come back after the mad house decisions of last season.

Would like Moyes aswell. However I am prepared to give FM a few more games before I start screaming Raus!

THE QUESTION SHOULD BE  :  Who would come   ??????

jeremyfulham

Eddie Howe but if unwilling to poach another clubs manager ......Clark ex WBA not Brmingham

YankeeJim

Given the strength in youth that we have, I would think it would be a great opportunity for someone like Moyes to re-establish his reputation in a manner similar to Roy at West Brom.
Its not that I could and others couldn't.
Its that I did and others didn't.

Because they had no money, Owner in Jail and talk about club closing down all season. he had very few players so he put together a team of youth loanees, who kept being recalled, not only did he lose Burn he lost his centre half partner and a full back all recalled. He has done sort of the same this season starting better than us. Also did a great job at Huddersfield prior to going to Birmingham and cares about Fulham
