Just been reading a report linking Xherdan Shaqiri (ex Bayern, Basel) from Inter to interests from Stoke! The same Shaqiri who was coveted by half of Europe's elite 2 years ago. I know Stoke have come a long way since the Rory Delap throw in set piece, but surely someone is dreaming up rubbish...

Yep, they're where we should have been had MAF not decided to weaken the club short term to make it easier to sell. They were the only Premier League club I watched regularly last season. Hughes has them playing constructive football that's enjoyable to watch. It could so easily have been us, but there you go.

to be fair though, hughes threw the toys out of the pram over osvaldo who was a complete flop at the saints. and didnt it take a players revolt to get hughes to change his style because it wasnt working. plus we have seen what hughes can do when you feed his ambition at city and qpr. some managers are better without money, and he wont admit it, but he is one of them

Hughes has done a very good job spending little money unlike the QPR fiasco. Stoke made brave move getting rid of Pulis but its turned out very well. I don't think they will get Shaqiri but he's been able to bring in flair players like Bojan and Moses which is what you want to see when you're mid table club.

That is one way of looking at it. Personally I think this one is far more accurate:

"Yep, they're where we should have been had Khan not been totally inept since buying the Club."

Eh, most Stoke players seem to live in Cheshire which certainly has it's benefits.
