Is it everything below Derby or Norwich or Preston

dannyboi-ffc

No one below Preston has a chance. Norwich would need to win 100% and they still have us to play so that's them gone lol.

Derby the same but without Chrissy wissy they can't seem to beat anyone.

Preston's next 3 are Blackburn away and 2 straight forward home games. If they take 9 points then they are well in this but anything less and they would need too many big results. They still have Leeds and Newcastle away to come.

So to answer the question I think we're down to 8 but realistically I don't think anyone below us will do it. The only way is up as the song goes!

Supporting Fulham isn't about winning, it's about belonging

Seen quite a lot of Preston in the past week or so, courtesy of Channel 5 last night and their recent visit to the Cottage.  They appear to be exactly what they are, which is a team clicking along at around 1.5 points per game.  Good going.  To get to the playoffs they will need to be delivering 2.3 or 2.4 points per game over 9 games.  That's phenomenally difficult in this league.  The two best teams are at around 2.1 points per game for the season.  Preston don't have the quality or strength in depth to have a realistic chance of doing it.

So it's looking like seven into six.

Of those seven teams, none are better at attacking than us.  Only one is worse at defending (Reading).  We have reasonable strength in depth.  It's not the worst hand to be dealt, but nothing can be taken for granted.  A recipe for an exciting time ahead.

It would be a brave person to say any team still with a mathematical chance of being in the final top six won't be come May.  Two drawn matches between Sheff Wed and Reading next Friday, and Leeds and Brighton on Saturday could open things up for quite a few form teams just below them.  I still think the games over Easter may be critical in shaping up the last weeks of the season.

Holders

In my humble opinion it's everyone below us now.

There's a lot of football to play. There's still 27 points up for grabs!!!

Bit off topic but my main concern is the international break. I don't want it getting us out of our stride

Playoffs will be 4 from the top 8 as it stands. Certainly must not forget that PNE are behind us. Leeds, SW and Reading took their eye off us and we must not make the same mistake.

One thing, is Martin's loan eligible for the playoffs?

Amazing how quickly things can change, had Shef Wed won at Villa yesterday and we had lost to Leeds and Newcastle we would still be nine points off a play off place.

Dangerous to look too far forward, anything can happen.
Just concentrate on next Tuesday night and another win please.

I think that if PNE catch anyone it'll be Reading or Sheffield.
3 points Tuesday and we'll be 7 points above them + at least a 16 goal difference.

The rest of the teams can book their holidays from the 8th May
VERY DAFT AND A LOT DAFTER THAN I SEEM, SOMETIMES

In all honesty I would be very surprised if any of the teams below us managed to catch us but that does not mean they won't. I don't think any of them will make the play off spots as they are all running out of games and cannot afford any bad results. Injuries, suspensions and sending off's as well as a dip in form can all be a deciding factor. I think if we win on Tuesday we will make the play offs at the end of the season
