The GetWestLondon reporter who covers Fulham says that he understands a deal with a striker is close to completion and he'll tweet more information in the morning when he has it. Also confirmed that it is a different deal to the Fonte deal.

Things seem to be picking up. Looks like we want to get at least some of our business done earlier than is traditional.

A quote of Slavisa's from last summer sticks out - something about having at least 80% of his squad set before pre-season. Looks like we'll hopefully have that, which bodes very well for the beginning of the season.

To be fair it's silly season and that ODonovan guy seems to be the main man fuelling these silly stories. He might be in the know but no story has any substance, the same player is recycled every two three days in a Player X/Y/Z will/ will not / may /may not be coming due to the club on a transfer/loan

He works for GetWestLondon and they are known to have direct links to the club because they're the local paper. If you didn't know, O'Donovan is a full time Fulham reporter, i.e. he goes to all the matches as media personnel and live tweets events of the match (usually much more accurately and quickly than the official account).

Yes. May not have been his idea to sign him but we wouldn't sign a player Slavisa didn't want as signings have to get head coaches approval.

The club have repeated several times now that Slavisa has final say. The club can't force him to sign a player. They can deny him a player that he wants however.

Bet it's Cyriac in on a year long loan. Wouldn't be the worst, especially if we secure a Mounie/Fonte type as well.

Not that I can see. Saw something knocking around that we have two 10M + offers on the table. Mounie probably one of them, no clue who the other is (I doubt Fonte is worth that much).

No he wasn't sure who the player was and I presume he'll announce tomorrow morning at some stage, but clearly whoever is feeding him the info made it sound like it was more of a cert than Fonte based on his replies to people, and Font is someone who he seemed fairly confident on us trying to sign anyway, so it seems promising.

Well, when Eibar screwed us on the Enrich deal at the last minute, I'm not sure anyone had much choice in the matter. You are probably right about Slavisa not wanting Cyriac and his playing time lends weight to your side. I still wouldn't say that the club forced Cyriac down Slavisa's throat....just that the timing and need for cover (at a minimum) forced everyone's hand. I doubt seriously that the club, TK and Kline wanted to spend loan fees and wages on a striker who wasn't going to contribute any more than Cyriac did.

If that happens, that will release more funds and more ammo to strengthen any incoming deals that are imminent.
