I couldnt be any happier with how this transfer window has gone to be honest, if we get this lad in at LB it can only be considered a hugely succesful window. People are too quick to complain that things dont happen quick enough but if you take your head out of the fulham bubble you see that pretty much every single team is in the same boat, apart from the relegated teams and wolves, who although it seems like their gamble is paying off its a long season and i cannot it see it lasting. I think every person involved with recruiting has done a good job

Aluko, for me, is expendable. We've got enough of what he brings to the table. He cannot finish. Just dreadful in front of goal. If we get $5 million for him and that can fund a Rolan/Waris move I think you do it.

How about we only let Aluko go if we can get Rolan, should be like-for-like with money and I can imagine he is starting to get desperate

A striker for a winger? doesnt make to much sense to me.

My take on Aluko, for what it is worth, is that he has been angling for a new contract since early summer when he mentioend about wanting to play premier league football, he may or may not have been away (thru his agent) of readings interest at the time. With that interest being firmed up, at least verbally, by Stam in several mediainterviews he has stiffened his stance on wanting new and better deal. For me Stam (especially if Reading have not made a bid) has unsettled the player and I am not sure how that sits within the tapping up rules or if it does at all. That being said does he deserve anew deal? probably but on much better terms? proabbaly not, a year longer deal yes and a slight increase yes, but I owuldnt go more than a 2 year extension with a light increase. Why? while he is good wide his shooting is woeful and his crossing is ok at best, his main attribute is running at people and then sliding the ball across, if he is through 1 on 1 we fairly well know 80% of the time its not going in. SO yes a new deal but on the clubs terms. If he doesnt want that then thats his choice, but giving him say an extra 10k+ a week and 3-5 years is too much for me.

We got him on a free if we got £6 million plus for him then great.

I tend to agree slightly with you, although I wouldnt say ther eis zero chance, I would say perhaps that the last call is being made and the door is closing

Striker for a winger: I'd agree except that we now have Ojo.

Rolan can operate in both wide and central can't he? I know stranger things have happened but I wouldn't be against it. Would leave you with Strikers of Kamara, Fonte and Rolan + Piazon who can play as a false 9. Then for Wingers you've got Ayite, Kebano, Ojo, Piazon, Sess +  Kamara and Rolan if needed. If that was our front line then nobody could moan whatsoever.

He can yes but for me not a good swap, just my opinion. Dannyboi was also sayin Fonte can play wide as well

I can only imagine that conversation with Rolan's agent;

Agent: Rolan, remember we had this intretsed from several clubs in Europe
Rolan: yes...
Agent: Well only Newcastle & Fulham were left and uhhh Rolan we held out for Newcastle .. well, yes they just signed   a striker
Rolan: Ah, but we always have Fulham!
Agent: Uhhhh... yes that is the problem, they just signed a striker from the 1st Portuguese league..
Rolan: Sh/t

Ordar

Someone will sign Rolan before the window closes, and probably for a cut price. I doubt now that it will be us, considering the perception that he's messed us around

AlexW132

We have enough strikers now, don't need Rolán. Rafa Soares looks to be quite a player according to Porto fans, apparently one of the most promising young LBs in europe, and has been subject to interest from Liverpool. In good company, then.

alexmur

Maybe the rolan deal was done weeks ago and they are saving the announcement for the deadline day, getting a signing on deadline day is always good marketing.

we literally have kamara Fonte and Humphrys on our books. So 2 and the kids. Might well be enough, although looking at our bad luck with your injuries so far, I wouldn't count on it

we only have 2 strikers, the rest are polkayers who can play there but not their prime position and their finishing is weaker. 3 is a good number of pure forwards (as in their prime position) to have in our squad

Because they have Alex Telles and Miguel Layun who are quite good so it's probably to ensure he gets playtime, as he's done for the past two seasons.

Sounds like we might have all our business done before deadline day... could be a quiet day.

Because he's behind Miguel Layún and Alex Telles in the pecking order, who are both top quality LBs.

Yes but do we think Rolán or many strikers for that matter would come to be 3rd choice? Also I think that the defense is now a much much bigger priority.

cheers, thought it was going to be another ravel Morrisons type thing. Excellent young footballers, being allowed to leave always makes me think, why are they letting him go?
