Is it bad that the psychopath in me wants Jota to stay at Brentford for that exact reason? ( as long as we buy Forestieri of course)

Hadn't thought about that. Maybe Ojo was Aluko's replacement, in advance. Don't think it's an obvious strengthening of the squad though and doubt Slavisa would have approved, so still poses a threat to a concerted promotion effort.

Still hoping that we get either Forestieri or Jota. I don't think we should be hindered by paying one large fee this window. If we're serious about our future, we need to speculate and invest i.e. put our money where our mouth is!

I think Aluko is a loss but we do have decent cover for him. Sometimes people sound like as if we were Reading fans and we just sold Aluko to Fulham - now that would be devastating.

Ojo, Kebano, Ayité are handfuls, Fonte looks smart, Cairney/Johansen. We do have our share of flair and creative players.

we also have decent cover for cairney in norwood, and cisse, that doesnt mean that i want us to sell him and rely on them. point is if aluko had of stayed, he would have been first choice, so if he isnt replaced then that position has been weakened.

Define "panic loan"? Because we've been after him for at least two weeks and he's quite highly rated by Wolves fans. Only reason he's even available is because their Manager plays with Wing-Backs rather than Wingers.

hasnt played a game since 2015. only played 22 times in his whole career. not the type of player promotion teams should be looking at. especially on loan. plus looks like leicester might be interested

He was sort after by others and we won the race for his loan, therefore he will play!
Fulham knew that Sone wasn't happy and was playing up for a better deal, which we were not happy to do and so look d elsewhere. Shame but it just wasn't going to work out in everyone's best interest.
I loved Sone but he, understandingly, wanted a better contract at his age, and weren't prepared to give it. We now have a very good young replacement who looks more likely to have an end product than his predecessor (hopefully).
I remember last week people suggesting Sone missing a couple of sitters was a disgrace and I agree - was he playing up on purpose? I hope not, but it did seem easier to score!
We played exceptional against Ipswich without Sone and I don't see why that will not continue. I really can't see us bringing in another winger as we will not drop Ojo and do already have cover. We may bring in another striker and defender but imo there's no panic if we don't.

I agree. Here's a young fellow looking to get into sports journalism and people are behaving awfully on here I'm my opinion. For me it's bullying and if swear words aren't allowed on the board, ten people ganging up on someone and trying to ridicule them is a hell of a lot worse. I'd much rather be spouting the odd debious transfer roomer than a bunch of grown men picking on a student behind their keyboard. (Apologies if you are also students as in that case it's fine).
