If Brentford declined our bid or Jota refused to discuss terms we wouldn't/shouldn't have let Aluko go. Seems clear to me we expected to complete the Jota deal the following morning and have been very naive, completing the outgoing transfer before signing a replacement, something we seem to do with phenomenal frequency without ever learning our lesson.

he was released after being put in Zenits second team, how well did the last guy we signed from the russian league do?

Exactly, which is why I think we should stick to transfer rumours and then praise or slam the management once the window has closed so we actually have concrete evidence as to who we're signing and who we're not.

Aluko's replacement was Ojo - £7m profit straight to the PL (depending on his BS valuation)

they have a right to air their vierws it is a forum.

No one has any concrete eveidence on any deal so to ask those who wish to have a pop at management not to post is silly as we would just do the same for everyoine. please respect what we ask.

Something to be said about waiting to comment negatively/ positively until the whole picture comes clear though. For all we know we could be lining up a deal for someone incredible under the radar. At the moment we only have speculation, Sky sports snippets and ITKs that aren't ITK. Could be an awful day but equally could be special.

I wouldn't be too upset about missing out on Jota if we ended up with Forestieri. For me, Aluko's departure leaves a hole - he was a player that got me off my seat when he got the ball. He had skill, desire and determination and I believe you could see he cared.

If we ended up with Graham, i'd be a little disappointed if he is seen as the replacement for Aluko. Aluko was effectively an experienced professional who knew his game - Graham might have bags of potential but he only has a handful of first team appearances under his belt. Going into a season where we have, in my opinion, a real chance of going up, do we really want to have to allow a player like Graham time to find his feet etc, when we could hit the ground running with Forestieri?

I'm of the view that Sone going weakens our first team squad considerably - he was a first team starter, pretty much nailed on when fit.

We need someone in of similar quality who is going to improve our team. Jordan Graham may have potential but would be yet another loan and we've got that in Ojo.

We need another player who is a surer bet / less of a gamble than someone who's only played a handful of games in the last two years due to serious injury and was injury prone before that.

We're in the process of bringing on Sess, Ojo and our own youngsters - don't have the luxury to blood someone else's player and give them the time to iron out their ring rust / kinks in their game as we should be going for promotion. Therefore, we have the money Sone to be aiming to INVEST in players that are more likely to provide a better chance of immediately improving our team and hitting the ground running.

I'm sure the board are working hard to bring in the bigger names mentioned and sincerely hope we secure at least one of them.
