Wolves signing another 10m player. Locadia from PSV. They are really going for broke
And if they fail they really will be broke

and if they succeed, and fortune favours the brave, they will turn their millions into hundreds of millions. To accumulate you have to speculate.
I do not want to see them promoted at our expense because their actions matched their ambitions. Whilst we look back and say if only. I don't mind them going up with us, but not instead of us. If we don't get a couple more quality players over the line before the deadline, then we may just fall short again, if injuries take their toll, and please no deadwood from deadwood city on a free.

I'd be interested to see you go and discuss your speculate / accumulate (read in this case - massively overspend, gamble and hope for the best) theory with Leeds fans. Risdale had the same attitude and look where it's got them. They are still paying for that attitude now.

and on the flip side, it doesn't hurt man u Chelsea or city when they do it.
Prem has different rules that are far more lenient. IOt is also this that is one of the reasons that FFP is a complete joke
it was those prem rules that did for Leeds. Just used those 3, because it's the same extreme scenario as it is to use Leeds as the one club to demonstrate what a gamble can do to your club
but kleeds went completely bonkners and is an extreme case. United Chelsea City et al have far more lenient rules to comply too that the EFL clubs. EFL clubs punished at makeing a 13 million loss (each year for 3 years) but the prem teams dont have that restriction
so are you saying that our wage bill is so high, that we need to make a profit in this window?
I never said that, why do you twist and change things to suit you. Leeds wasnt all down to wages, it was the ridiculous fees paid, and the way they financed them with loans etc. almost 3rd party ownership.
Every day is a Fulham day

Dangerously incomparable situations to our own - completely different point in time / league / club foundations / sizes / FFp restrictions to ours.

Look at how much money those teams had and where they were when they started spending - already towards the top of the top league without FFP hampering them when they kicked it up a notch on the spending side. Plus these are teams that already had hundreds of millions more pounds revenue / a bigger fanbase / much more resources than us and had no realistic prospects of relegation.

The Champ is a massively difficult league to get out of and it's proven season after season that big spending doesn't guarantee success. That level of wreckless irresponsibility can cause massive damage as per Leeds.

That is NOT to say we shouldn't be spending the Sone money and then some to get in proven quality for our promotion push! If we don't do that then I consider letting Aluko go pointless and possibly even damaging.

Question for those who a month ago stated to me and a few others to stop panicking and moaning, that there is plenty time yet.....Are You Still Of The Same Opinion?

My question would be, why on earth would you want to panic and moan at all?

Only time I panic is when I see the wife coming up the garden path and I haven't washed up the dishes and hoovered as promised.

haha you've made me laugh a few times today mate. Thank you
I was there, standing in the Putney end

There is no greater need for panic.

There should be one thread for transfer activity and a separate thread for transfer debate

Seems like we want to spend. We have apparently bid on Gayle so if true then the money must be there.

er a new thread for transfer activity would have zero posts in it.
CHRIS MARTIN IS SO BAD,  WE NOW PRAISE HIM FOR MAKING A RUN.

Chelscum must be sick, first Liverpool grab Ox from under their noses, now Lorente of Swansea has chosen Spurs over them...Love it

Our management only seem keen on legitimate first team players or low cost, low risk fillers. Makes sense at this point in the window. Go for broke for players that are just out of reach, never know if you'll land one.

And another for people to whinge on.

Just a suggestion, not an order!

Quote from the owner of Peterborough:

" I am rather surprised that few clubs up top end of Championship in terms of size/wealth haven't done more business and shocked that Newcastle apparently want to sell Dwight Gayle already.

If the rumours are true and Fulham get him, they have serious chance of automatic promotion."

Looks more likely our board are aiming at 6th place.

Why would he speak out on his subject? Bit of an odd one. Equally, if we have offered 15m seems a bit harsh to say we are aiming for 6th place.

Marcel_Gecov

It was around this time last year that Piazon whispers started. I wonder what defenders haven't been picked up on loan yet from other London clubs? Krystian Bielik perhaps?

We do this every window at the last minute. Bid big but late and fail to land the player. We need two quality signings to lift this squad to being as close as possible to certain promotion candidates and as usual Fulham blow the opportunity. So near but so far every single time.

Well it isn't. Over spending your means eventually brings ruin. Ask Portsmouth, Coventry and MC Hammer, about what over spending does to you. Id rather stay in the championship than end up like MC Hammer.
and under spending is equally damaging. We must have made a profit in this window, so don't even know where the over spending comments are coming from

I concur ⚽️👍

By my reckoning we are just in the black to the tune of £400k on our business during this window.

kiwiwaka

Who's to say we even bid or were interested in half of these players? We're not even at the end of the window and people already denying the chances of promotion. Genius.
