What is our absolute priority for January ?

Some people say centre back , some say striker and some say a left back, for me they are all important but none of them are the priority,
For me the absolute priority this month is to bring in a replacement for Tom Cairney, somebody with Premier League class that can hit the ground running straight away, the news from the press conference today is that Cairney is unlikely to play this weekend so whatever his complaint is it's not improving is it, Fulham without Cairney are at best ordinary,
We've got lots of Premier League Clubs eating out of our hand at the moment as they all register their interest in Sessegnon, surely one of Spurs, Chelsea, Liverpool or Man Utd has a creative midfield player that we can take on loan for 6 months,
Really don't fancy our chances tomorrow, even with Cairney, think their strike force will be too strong for our back line.
I think it's all very sad , we need a midfielder, a centre back, a left back, at least one striker a decent goal keeper and possibly a right back before we can seriously start to challenge for promotion, can all that be accomplished over the next 20 days ?
Not a chance 🙁
So that takes us to next season when we will most likely be minus Ryan Sessegnon !!
Anybody want to provide me with some hope and tell me it's not that bad ?
And anybody want to stand up and say that we can challenge without Cairney ?

Unlikely to play again...  what this week, this month, ever?

You start by saying Cairney is unlikely to play again and then go on to say Really don't fancy our chances tomorrow, even with Cairney!
Whci is it?

Keep Sess, Fredericks, Cairney, McDonald and Slav. Then get a LB (Malone?), CB and a striker

Cairney is still being assessed ahead of the game as per the snippets from the press conference on the Fulham twitter.

"Betts and McDonald have been working with us. We will have to assess the situation with TC, and Ayite is out."

In reality the priority is probably to keep the strength of the squad as it is and seemingly most importantly, keep NET spend the same. At least this what I gather from everything said by the club & manager.

1. Dominant right-sided centre half, eg. Hefele.
2. Starting striker, e.g. Ulloa.
3. Proper left back, e.g. Targett.

If Cairney is out I really hope that Piazon and not Norwood gets the nod. Norwood is a decent backup for McDonald and Johansen but we need someone with more creativity in the final third if Cairney is missing and Piazon fits the bill.

Does he? I am not so sure. Piazon is tidy on the ball, good in small spaces. I haven't really seen him orchestrating a performance, and I say to my Chelsea supporting friends (sorry chaps, a bit inevitable down this way) that I am not sure he influences games as much as he should. But agree that without Cearney we are not the same team.

I assume it means for the rest of the season. Any duration less than this and the O.P. would be seemingly trying to mislead.

Unlikely to play this weekend.

If Cairney is injured I would like to see us play Rui Fonte in the ten role just behind Kamara. This is where he played his best for Braga and I think Kamara would also benefit from having a more technical striker next to him.

As fans our absolute priority for January is to stop believing it is any different to any other month of the season.  That way we may have a few pleasant surprises rather than bitter disappointments.
