Why no urgency - do our management (not Jol) want relegation?

My answer to the topic heading is hopefully not. But is there a way that us suffering relegation would be beneficial for Khan? There is only one reason that anyone is truly interested in buying the club and that is how much the ground is worth. Al Fayed wanted to move us to develop the ground into flats so why wouldn't Khan? This has been my biggest worry. But does relegation actually help with that? Probably not

As for the signings, players need to want to come to us. If Bent was on 80,000 a week at Villa and we offer him 40,000 a week why would he want to do that? He may as well wait to see if a better offer comes along and he has until the end of the month. I can understand why we wouldn't up the amount just for him. I think that is the problem. Also, i'm not sure if Jol and Bent got along that well before anyway. Wasn't Bent one of the players Spurs signed that Jol didn't want to sign? It might be taking a lot of persuading to get Bent to join. But the simple fact for us is that we need to get players in in those key positions asap otherwise we are in massive trouble. It's a tricky situation...

Welcome aboard Henry.

Perhaps the board feel that we will get a better price for Bent/Granero by moving for them on the last day? Villa have made it pretty obvious that he's not going to play for them so it is their interest to get him of the wages. If we put an early bid in then they will have more time to test out resolve. Where as a late bid would give them little choice to accept it or pay his wages and let him go for nothing when his contract runs out.

I'm merely an armchair/keyboard pundit like the rest of you but I think it would be naive to think that Mcintosh and the board are sat around watching you tube clips and on Facebook. This club has come a very long way and is clearly being run by professionals.

Would getting Craven Cottage accredited with being a 'stadium of community importance', such as Old Trafford fans have accomplished with their local council, preserve the future of the ground?  Surely being London's oldest professional club should carry some further significance for our national sport in our capital?  Would such a 'listing' for want of a better would help the preservation of the ground or could it be used to hinder future expansion?

I would be very surprised if shad coughed up any sort of money to allow us to get the players we wanted - I just don't see his interest in our club to be that genuine and I'm not sure he's willing to invest the type of money he is on the jaguars on us.. I think he thinks he's getting away with owning a premiership club with little responsibility of actually having to invest much because of the way we worked under al fayed... The reality though is fayed was a fulham supporter and a businessman... Shads is a businessman and not a fulham fan. His interest in us to succeed is purely for the jaguars interest, but we don't even know if his interest stems for long enough to care about even our short term future.

You're all thinking it... There's been very little genuine change or input from our owner - he's taking a lot of you for a ride if you think any differently.. I get the impression in your heart of hearts though it may be true.

I'm also wondering what happened to the dembele and Dempsey money...?

It's clear shads isn't managing the club well already and if anything I think there's a lack of communication at the top end of the club now al fayed has left and a lack of leadership - honest football men have been replaced by NFL stalwarts ***** focuse on the business.

I don't think shads realised how much of a direction and clarity of job spec etc al fayed gave the club and those in charge and it clearly shows with Jols erratic attitude to one day being extremely confident of the high quality of player that wants to join and then getting frustrated at the time it's taking to bring in these players he says want to play for us. He's obviously clear in who he wants and knows we're in talks with players who want to come so something above him is messing us around.. Welcome to our new ownership.

Shads clearly had little plan for the club before buying it.

Where's your evidence for all this Mr General?

From what I've seen, read heard since the ownership change, the only thing that has changed has been a few board members.....and that happens with any takeover. Aside from that what's been in the press about and around Fulham is par for the course. We always delay spending money til the last. Jol always speaks in riddles and often changes course. We continue to TALK about addressing needs. MAF always kept a very low profile in the transfer window (at least sine the mid 2000's) and so has......well, wait a minute. Shad did go on Cottage Talk and share his thoughts about the club and his desires for its future directly with the fans.

One thing's for sure. Having a failure of a pro football team in London does nothing for the image of the Jaguars. I'm not sure why he'd think relegation from the PL would benefit his team in the NFL.

I respect your opinions as I do the rest on this board, but this comes across as particularly paranoid.

If Khan wanted to become a real estate magnate, it seems to me that there are a lot of more straightforward ways he could've gone about it than by buying a Premier League club thousands of miles away from all his other business interests.  There's plenty of real estate here in the States.  For Mo it made a lot more sense since he already had Harrods a stone's throw away.

The transfer market has a domino effect and we're not at the front.

Cool it !!

We are all impatient - myself included .
But this is NOT yet the end if the world .
But this is how the transfer windows work
Most activity is still to be done .
Much in the last week , last day even last hour !!

I wonder what other teams boards look like ?
Have you seen how many players Arsenal and Man Utd have signed ?

Let's all see where we are on Sept 2 .
Sadly though we will be 3 matches into the season .
I wish the window closed before the 1st game .

To bet fair, ManU and Arsenal have multiple strikers capable of scoring, multiple LBs whom they could depend upon, and multiple CMs like what we need. We'll be fighting to stay above the relegation scrap as we sit. They'll still be fighting for the top four places.

It's not quite apples and apples is it?

I agree there's time, but we need as much of it as possible to get signings acclimated. Easier to finish in the top half if you're not conceding early matches because your signings aren't fit or aren't accustomed to their teammates or never materialized.

Every body is getting impatient! Yes! Especially when you see other clubs have already been spending!
Why can we not get deals done earlier?
You just know we will miss out exactly because its left so late!

SSN have said we are interested in...

Darren Bent.... Probably end up a Palace.
Enoh......Too expensive.
So the last one was Troy Deeney. Our best bet?

According to Sky obviously!
COYW!!! Bring back Rene! But I do like Slav!

Did nobody check family trees? If you trace the name 'Khan' back far enough,  it's an ancient Pakistani name meaning Trinder meets Marler.

Ok. i see what you are saying but with Al Fayed he basically made back most of the money he spent on the club in the sale to Khan. Are there areas in America that would make as much money from flats or whatever he would develop there? If there are then you are right that it would be strange to buy us for that reason
