QPR and Brentford

Watched the match last night on Sky QPR.v.Brentford. Two very good teams and another example of just how tight the Championship will be this season. Brentford have an excellent striker in Ollie Watkins and his goal tally for the season of 10 is now only one behind Mitro. Wouldn't fancy our chances against either of these teams home or away at the moment.

Yes I watched with interest.
Still feel we have enough about us to beat QPR but the two huge Brentford central defenders and their speed up front will result in us dropping points.
This is assuming Brentford remain in this kind of form when we play them.

Not sure I agree with OP- one defeat in 9 for us and bettering opposition that we come up against regularly.
I thought their (Brentford) defence looked really average. Get down the wings and we'll have a lot of joy against them.

They are both always well  fired up against us. I remember us losing 2 1 at the Cottage to QPR and missing two penalties,  one in each half!! I watched the game last night and don't fancy our chances against either of them atm as we don't seem to have the same urgency about us...

Two tough games for us I imagine but lets just think about Hull for this week.

I thought exactly the same as the OP they both looked good enough to cause us problems. Quicker build ups and more urgency as already said.

I doubt we'll be as willing to give the ball away like both teams were last night. Thought they were both pretty average apart from Eze (QPR) and Benrahma (Bentford).

It all looked pretty fast and furious but not a huge amount of quality on display . I saw Benrahma attempt two crosses from the side Edge of the penalty area , the first went out one bounce for a throw on the other side ( prompting what the ffing hell was that ) , the second was sliced behind not even reaching the goal . That said he did take one of the best pens I have seen in ages . Pass success rate was poor for both teams especially in the final third . Agreed pace and power will cause us probs but we have enough quality to beat them both. QPR average at best , brentford might be a little more tricky.( and yes you can dig this post out when they both beat us)

Worth pointing out that QPR's best central defender, Barbet,  and their best striker Hugill were both missing last night,
A lot of their success this season has been the partnership between Hugill and Wells, and both will give us problems,
Very important that Arter, Reed, Johansen (whoever plays) keep a tight reign on Eze, subdue him and we've got a chance,
And it's very, very, very important that Joe Bryan sorts his defensive side of his game out and keeps his wits about as Bright Osayi-samuel was a real handful down their right hand side and gave Rico Henry loads of problems all night,
But my biggest concern is the fact that it's the 1st game following an International break,  and as we all know we are pretty shocking following international breaks.

I think you can also take heart from the poor defending on the qpr goal ( don't think you will see a more free header from a corner ) and a keeper who made Betts look like Mr safe hands .

I thought Brentford looked good. They didn't start the season well but have found some form lately. They look a good team.

QPR would have gone 2nd with a win last night but their attacks reminded me of us at times, very slow to build anything up.

I still think we'll have too much for rangers, home & away, but they've improved a lot in a short space of time, assume down to Warburton.

We don't have a great record against Brentford in recent seasons & think they'll be a much tougher game for us than rangers.

That said, I predict a 2nd place finish for them in the West/SW London mini league behind us.

A lot to be said  for the Brentford scouting system too . Keep finding these pacey forwards .

Got to give brentford their dues, extremely well run club with such a teeny tiny fans base.
As for QPR, the sooner they fold, the better.
