Slaphead in Qatar

Surprised how many people want RLC in the first eleven. I'd put Lemina in for him.

I'd like to see Lemina and Loftus-Cheek start

I think the 3-5-2 against Burnley was the right idea, just wrong personnel.

                           Areola

             Aina       Andersen      Tosin

Tete       RLC      Zambo     Reed      Robinson

                  Mitro      Lookman

I'll admit, this is a bit of a fantasy lineup, but I if we want to get some type of quality attacks, we have to have multiple points at each level. So RLC holding onto the ball deeper, can find Lookman a layer higher, then of course Mitro even higher. The only qualm I have is not having BDR in there. I know some may lost faith in Aina after his poor passing, but his tracking and clearances were quite important in the Brighton match. I did toy with the idea of having BDR in place of Tete, and Tete take over for Aina - but we've never seen that, and I'd hate the WBA match be one to try something to experiment on.

Regardless, no BDR at LWB - and unfortunately Cav has worn out his welcome.

I like this and would probably go for it. Either that or this to change it up a bit and have a real go:

                           Areola

   Tete       Andersen      Tosin       Robinson

   BDR            Zambo     Reed       Lookman
                              RLC

                             Mitro

The more I think about it the more certain I am that this is the best team we can put out, you have a lot of attacking players there and Mitrovic is better than Cav no ifs or buts. We should have 4 at the back and have a go this weekend

The Cravenette

Agree with this. We can switch back to 5 at the back once we are 3 nil up

The only game we've scored 3 goals in this season we lost... not a good omen

Lovin this lineup. WBA sends 2 defenders to mark Mitro while we attack from sides, leaving Lookman enough space to have a go from dropped ball.

My XI:

GK 1 A Areola

RB 34 O Aina
RCB 5 J Andersen
LCB 16 T Adarabioyo
LB 33 A Robinson

RM 14 B Decordova-Reid
RCM 21 H Reed
LCM 29 A Anguissa
LM 19 A Lookman

RS 9 A Mitrovic
LS 17 I Cavaleiro

                           Areola

   Tete    Andersen    Tosin   Robinson

     BDR  Reed   Anguissa  Lookman

                   RLC   Kebano

Please, no Aina or Mitro

clarkey

Look the bottom line is that any team with Cav in it fails to score and wastes possession.

Best to leave out Aina, RLC and play BDR up front but Parker is very conservative in his selection so lets at least hope for just one of those changes. Drop Cav. Permanently. Good luck here's hoping !!
