Excellent interview in the Telegraph yesterday;
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2023/02/13/scott-parker-bruges-lost-interest-football-watched-no-games/

Comes across very well in my opinion.

I almost lost interest in it aswell after putting up with his dross. It all started at Charlton away in January 2020. That was the first time I've ever seen a Fulham time be instructed pre match to take a point rather than go for the win and I could never forgive him after that
Never watched Roy away to a big team?  Shaktar Donetsk away?

His buzz word is now 'pivotal'.  His record at Brugge is now P.8 W.1 D.5 L.2.  He hasn't changed a bit.

Denis Odoi meanwhile adds central midfield duties to his burgeoning list of accomplishments.  VAR ruled out his headed goal for offside although it wasn't clear who was offside at the free kick his header came from.  The VAR decision was mighty quick compared to what we get in England however.

No interest in what he does thinks he sees himself as a great manager and ignores the results.

Annnndddd after a decent spell of keeping possession (ie passing it around aimlessly for 10 minutes), a defensive lapse is pounced upon and Benfica are 2-0 up.

I have to turn this off, it's giving me PTSD.

Highlight of the game: Dennis Odoi starting a Champions League game at CDM. Legend.
Denis will be up front in the next match.

Or in goal!

I like this comment on Tweet from a Brugge supporter "Pfff, wat ne fluttrainer."    Pfff, what a flute trainer - loses something in the translation!
He goes on to say "Has Hoefkens been kicked out for this? Since then even worse football, even fewer chances, even less conviction, even less urge to move forward."
Sounds familiar......

The world is made up of electrons, protons, neurons, possibly muons and, definitely, morons.

I wonder which deluded owner will employ him next because he isn't gonna last long at Brugge!

Fulham 442

He said, according to the Telegraph article posted on this thread, that for a while he lost interest in football and watched no games.  I bet the Bruges fans would have preferred it if things had stayed that way!  It will be interesting to see where he goes next as surely he can't last long in his current job?  Maybe a Championship team would take a punt?  I am just so glad he left Fulham when he did, although not the way that he did it...

I think he lost interest in " football" when he stopped playing.....

I think that is a very valid point.   He was certainly a better player than he is a manager.  I get the feeling he was happier at Spurs as a youth coach than he is being the Head Coach of a team.
