I seem to remember a couple of seasons ago we had a deal in place to sign him but he failed to secure a work permit.

Can anybody with more insight share what changed between then and when Bournemouth signed him?

I was going to post the same after seeing him smash in that goal a few mins ago. I remember the work permit issue. Then Bmth signed him. I dont understand why they had no problem. He's a very good player though.

He's having an excellent season, no doubt.

From memory, I believe Bournemouth might have signed him the subsequent window - but yep, hard to see what changed in that 6 months or so

It was because the summer we wanted to sign him he didn't have enough points based on the post brexit coefficient calculation on whether players would get a work permit here (mainly due to playing at Nice in a weaker rated league in Ligue 1 and then over the summer Roma didn't put him in their squad at least once, which would've meant he got the final points needed for a UK work permit), and then ironically the whole process got scrapped about 4 months later I believe, hence they could sign him no issues

I wouldn't be taking him over Wilson anyway...

I heard a stat on a football podcast that Forest average the furthest distance per shot conceded in the league.

Their average shot conceded is from about 18.5 yards.

Agree with you though for sure Ray, reminiscent of some of the goals we were conceding a couple of months back when nobody closed down the runner in the middle of the park
