Because of the mess over silva and the disruption of the World Cup which will effect us with preparations for new season and hoping it doesn't relegate us in  the process.So why did they buy us they do own an football franchise,in a different country with a bumper buisness and hotel chains farming land etc so why fulham.They don't particularly mad on European soccer they don't have a fanatical love of it they hardly watch it their absent owners they probably watch less than any other owners.Why is it just a tax fiddle I can't really see it their must be other ways to make money with less stress,my only reason which would make sense is if they had bought wembley with Tony's wrestling fulham tucked in the corner and other events at Wembley,then fulham without stand spending 10years getting planning permission to build flats and Fulham floundering at Wembley that seems was their plan and maybe silva knows there is no ambition with the khans.

Considering owning Fulham has cost Mr Khan well over £800m... he clearly didn't buy us to make money.
The money he has invested could never be reclaimed simply buy building a few flats on Craven Cottage ....
 
Mo could have sold us to someone so much worse.

Been a supporter for over 55 years the Ambition has always been questioned my father before me.My first 2 years of supporting FFC were Relegation seasons the young supporters growing up now following FFC have got the ambition I never had.

I don't know if Mr Thebeard reads replies to his posts or even if he can actually read at all. However, here's my two bobs worth:
They bought the club because they wanted to buy in to the Premier League European / World football business as part of a strategy of expanding into sports related long term investments.
For what it's  worth. I believe we are lucky to have the Khans as owners. They seem genuinely interested in the wellbeing of the club and have a model of how they would like to see the club in the future given the vagaries and restraints of the modern game. They have made mistakes which I am sure they are aware of. They have established us as a secure, financially stable club and it seems they are slowly improving their execution of the footballing side of things.
It could be a lot worse and I tire of the constant slagging off of the Khans and everything related to FFC.

Ask yourself this. If you were a billionaire, thought you could be OK as a football club owner and FFC came up for sale at a knock off price because the previous owner had written off its debt, would you not buy it?

I'm just totally fed up with these ill informed (not just you Mick) posts knocking our Chairman and/or his family. Yes, they have undoubtedly made mistakes and I am on record as being opposed to our pricing/tourist strategy, but sadly the latter is all pretty typical of the demise of the Prem in general (certainly for long term one club supporters). However the investment, stability and infrastructure improvements (Hammy End bogs excepted) have been fantastic and vital for our long term survival in the top flight. So for goodness sake get off their backs and give credit where it's due!

The yacht gets an annual runout, boys weekend whilst the gridiron team are over.  Cheerleaders too.  Handy hotel in the new stand.  Can even take a dip there. 

The man can only sensibly eat three meals a day, sleep in one bed and use his time in interesting and pleasant ways.  He's spent a large portion of his life thinking very hard about car parts in ways that has put a lot of food on a lot of tables.  He deserves a bit of fun.

Originally I believe he wanted to credentialise himself in the event London could have a gridiron team... and maybe find something for his son to do that kept him well away from the fender bender cash cow.

I'm grateful to the man.  He's constructed a stand with a roof that does a poor job of keeping Riverside dry, but a surprisingly good job as a JH stand sunshade. 

But who really knows?

I believe the fee for Stanty was actually £50k. However we paid £60k about 6 months earlier and he was one of the main reasons we stayed up. Scored 5 goals. In those 5 games, 3 wins and 2 draws. Two of the wins 1-0 and one 2-1 (Brentford away!). The two draws were 1-1. I suppose the results cover the 10K loss

I am reliably informed by my Jacksonville source that Mr Khan's sole reason for his involvement in FFC is to wind up M the B.

I will leave it to our general readership to decide exactly how successful he has been in this endeavour.

Agree 100%. The problem these days are people's exaggerated expectations. Yes it would be nice to play in Europe occasionally but anything more would be pie in the sky.

People expecting us to as competitive as the top clubs with big stadiums and massive fan bases is just not realistic as financially there is no comparison.

Just be grateful for our current owners as there are far worse out there as I'm sure Blackburn, Derby and Sheffield Wednesday will testify.

Quite possibly.
But I would not be nieve enough to think that I could let a totally inexperienced and unqualified DOF/SP DIR be the top man when making football decisions.

What a good end to the season that was.
All of a sudden we looked like a team.
If I remember right, we brought in ex squaddie Stant and Kelly Hague up front and Stacey North and Morgs at the back.
We looked forward to the next season only for a big part of our spine,Stant and North to be sold.
All part of the disappointment and frustrating of being afootball fan.
