Quote from: RAY Rock on June 24, 2026, 11:32:15 PMThey have had 1 shot on target the whole tournament. If you lose two games you should be on your way home not get through to the next round utterly ridiculous

Maybe wait until the game is over before making comments like that.

Only 30 minutes gone. They probably will, but they haven't lost this game yet.
Game has finished Scotland are the worst team along with Czech Republic i have seen at the world cup . Steve Clarke hasn't got a clue awful truly awful . Now they are clutching on other results they lost 2 group games they should be out this new format is devaluing the tournament
All the pundits giving it large about the fans it is great blah blah blah but the football they play is from the 🦕 era and if I was a Scotland fan I would be embarrassed absolute pathetic job by the team . The Scottish FA should hang their heads in shame. New chant No Scotland no shots on target

If they come home early they will still get treated as heroes and a statue will be made of John McGinn.(That is if they can make one that doesn't keep falling over)

Whereas Epsom-raving-looney knows everything! I made my remark after the first 5 minutes if you use your tiny brain and observe in the timestamp, the game changed after that as all the TV pundits equally stated, so I was in line with them. One is allowed to get things wrong while still knowing their footie.

I did state before the tournament that Scotland would not get out of the group - they may get through on 3rd if they are lucky but they are blighted by an obstinate, blinkered, unimaginative coach who leaves out some of his BEST players. Wonder which other manager does that!!??

Quote from: jarv on June 25, 2026, 09:33:19 AMSome of you old boys on here always take delight when Scotland lose. Why?  I always want our home nations to do well, that includes England. Living in London when I was young, adopted Fulham. Favourite players of all time, J.Haynes and G. Leggat.

Scotland has a small  population so pickings have always been a bit slim and it could get worse. I moved back to Scotland after 30 years in America.  When I see the public parks where there used to be goals and pitches everywhere, many are gone now.  If kids dont play, they dont become any good.  I lived in London and Sussex for many years, is it the same there? Football pitches disappearing?

I recall playing for a club in Chiswick, pitches next to Chiswick bridge. We had 8 teams plus a veterans 11 (over 35 I think).  Are the pitches still there?  Next time I am on the tube I will look out for them as we pass by Chiswick.

I always support the home nations but the English on here need to remember, England has 10 times the population of the other 3. Not surprising they have more to pick from.

Have you seen the state of Scottish fans when it comes to England?

I'm totally with you when i say, I love it when home nations do well too, but I can't put my head in the sand and pretend like there isn't a much larger contingency of Scottish fans who openly relish in England doing badly.
Edward Longshanks did a number on the Scottish psyche.

Genitalmen,

Let us not fall out over a difference of opinion.
Think of more pleasant scenarios like the Excrement end ablutions.

Also whilst I was laying in the bath tonight, what suddenly came to me was a midweek Division One match back in the 1960s Fulham v I think it was QPR but the memory fades.
Anyway we won I think by 3 goals to nil, and Dave Metchick who was 5 feet and a cigarette paper in height, scored all 3 goals with his head.
So the back pages of the papers the next day in bold print was Metchick Head Trick.
Does anyone else remember that.
I think it may been the year the club built the original Hammersmith End stand.

There is an interesting connection because Metchick in his final playing days played for Hendon and I remember watching this tiny clever player. Hendon had a striker whose first name was Gerry. When he scored three the local press called it geriatric.

Scotland's chance of qualifying in 3rd place

It's got worse since Ecuador won. I can see either Belgium or Cape Verde overtaking Scotland. Serves them right!

It's looking very unlikely that Scotland will qualify now.

Senegal's thrashing of 10 man Iraq is putting paid to that.

Shankland as their non-scoring centre-forward sums them up. Scottish FA have so little ambition have given Clarke a new contract. Northern Ireland in contrast are showing far more promise.

Fulham 1879

Opta now giving Scotland a 0.05% chance of qualifying for the knockouts.

Think that's solely down to Ghana having to beat Croatia by 3 goals.

Eton White

For Scotland to get through, they now need:

Group L: Ghana to beat Croatia by at least three goals.
Group K: DR Congo v Uzbekistan to be a draw, or Uzbekistan winning by no more than three goals.
Group J: Austria to beat Algeria by two or more goals, or Algeria to beat Austria by four or more goals. (If they draw, both are through so it'll be interesting to see what the bookies are offering on that!).

I would like to see Scotland go through, but it's not happening.

I like the Austria v Algeria match... the winners face Spain 🇪🇸
How can you lose, but make it look like you tried 🤔 🤣

Grassy Noel

Why should I be enjoying this slow motion torturing of Scotland? It is like watching the Sword of Damocles or a slow-burning fuse. But why do I take delight in it? It must be my memory of the Scots in 1978 with Ally's army and the knowledge of how bad they would make things for the English if our positions were reversed
