Six years ago posted in the middle of this thread and all said still holds true today and over the years of MS leadership.  Get to work, bring players in early so team can be ready to start season on the front foot.  Never really happened though.  Was always a struggle for MS to get players in early.  Always.  I think the only two players that were acquired early enough to prepare/gel/do pre season were Palhinha and Pereira.  Every single season outside of those two were last day of window purchases, and likely 3rd, 4th, 5th choices.  That's why I have little hope that ownership has done their homework and prepared for the possibility a new coach might need to be secured.  Sure, easy to say as many here have said, that obviously they have shortlist and likely had communication with candidates, but I'm not so sure, based on what we've seen with our own eyes over MS tenure and how this team just waits to the last minute to get business done.  I've always maintained, and yes, I know a smaller club like FFC has to watch how money is spent, that if you've identified players you really want that you should go and get them, even if at a premium.  It might limit later/further purchases, but at least you get desired choices in.  Anyway, it's always slow business with this ownership, and fans await new coach selection.

If you look at the Brighton or Bournemouth model, it's strong, early decisive manager appointments/contract renewals etc, which is any starting point to move forward with signings.
The signings are also swift, early and concluded briskly giving maximum time for settling in.  Seagulls  have already spent £22m on a young exciting winger linked with Chelsea and Newcastle.

If we are still faffing around going into July without a chief, or someone ready coming in the door on July 1, I'd be seriously worried.
And that's even before any signings are looked at.
