I think Nwaiwu is a replacement for Bassey unfortunately I think he will be sold to a team for nearly 50 million not sure what team but have a gut feeling about it

No - Nwaiwu is right footed and plays as a RCB. Therefore it is perhaps to replace either Diop or Andersen. I am hopeful about the latter but alas less likely due to his length of contract and the high fee we paid. We are likely to be stuck with him.

Nwaiwu had played both RCB and LCB as well as DM so I think he might be bought for versatility

Among the four regular starters at the back, I think Bassey is the best of the lot.  I would hate to see his departure, and would be difficult to replace, IMHO.

Is Nwaiwu a player that FFC has actually obtained?  Why this discussion?

Keeping Anderson for those reasons is wrong IMO, sometimes you just have to hold your hands up to a bad decision and end it

But there are real consequences to that on the financial front which have a knock on effect to what we can do in the market elsewhere. It's not like he useless and miles worse than Diop, he still is an international CB who has plenty of pros when playing well. In some ways he's worse than Issa, in some ways better.

If ultimately the goal here is to upgrade on our starting CB then given there isn't a casm between them it makes sense to sell the one that impacts books in the best way and allows us more money in the bank to make other moves and avoid FFP issues.

In this instance - We're in some luck that Diop is worth a good amount due to his WC exploits, and has an expiring contract...highly possible he isn't particularly interested in extending anyway - in selling Joachim now instead you possibly damage the books and then in a year you might have to spend again to replace Issa anyway. So makes more sense on the surface if it is Diop we let go. Every action has a chain reaction

All this said - IF the club decided to find somewhere for Andersen instead and got a significant fee, AND can convince Issa to extend, fine - but it seems unlikely given the circumstances of the players involved and the financial ramifications

I'll have some of what your drinking £50m Bassey !
Can only see Diop leaving if the fella comes in as not long on his contract and we might get our money back as he can walk away on a free and we've seen that far to often whereas Andersen still got at least a couple of years on his contract and we are not getting our money back on him?
