Putting the Reading draw in perspective

[A Humble Man]

I remember a number of seasons ago our first game of the season was away to Hull and thought that must be three points, but know we lost.

It is all different now the win at Liverpool last season was the start of this revolution that will see us become a major player.

3 lovely goals.  Doing it the right way.  Entertainment.  A classy fragility.  Yer Toffs (Berbatov; Ruiz; Diarra; Hangeland) and even-more-loved over-achievers  (Bairdinho; Hughesie; maybe even Riise and Duffer) combining gorgeously.  It's hard not to love it.

Pretty much agree with everything Rupert says. It's no coincidence that our away following is improving because at long last we have something to cheer about. I am absolutely certain that under Roy we would have gone for a 0-0 and probably lost 1-0. Under Hughes we may have got a draw, but it would not have been pretty.

Here we are, away from home, pressing for the winner 3 minutes from time rather than settling for a draw. That shows ambition to me. Apart from possibly Keegan, I cannot think of a more attack minded Manager than Martin Jol. An absolute pleasure to watch, although not too kind on the old ticker  092.gif !

I'm loving it, although I do worry that Jol will see the limitations of a Club like ours and move on to something bigger soon.
