Would love to have the Brighton scouting team instead of the Talbot's.

Interesting article in Sunday's Observer. Brightons Tony Bloom has a betting advisory and data company called Starlizard. They use an algorithm to weigh up player value and sell on potential. Only a chosen few have access to it. Their system does seem to rely on selling players on quite quickly.
I was speaking to a Brighton fan recently who told me they have made so much money using this system that they have no worries about FFP/PSR and can afford to spend quite a bit of money on players as a result.
Their success in finding players like Alexis Mac Allister,Joao Pedro,Mitoma and Baleba who will both eventually go for big money is also down to their excellent scouting system.
Why can't our scouts find such gems?

The article also goes on to say. As other clubs are also using analytical models in the search for players. That Brighton are having to go further afield to find the right players. Greece and South Korea were mentioned.

The problem is not Ali Mac or TK. The problem is Marco. He's the one who wants old and experienced players. He is the one with final say on all incomings and outgoings. He takes half the Summer off so he is a major reason we do business late.

But he's also the reason we are doing as well as we are and are securely in the PL.

Exactly. Older more experienced players are why we've had a relatively easy time settling back into the premier league since Marco brought us up. We do have to continue to invest in youth to keep the balance right and I think we're doing that. Signed our homegrown young talent to long term deals, broke our transfer record last year on ESR and look to do so again this year with Kevin. I really do not understand the catastrophizing this summer. Stability and continuity is a much greater determinant of success than splashing a boatload of cash on a bunch of new players every window.
