Understand the uncomfortable political nature of the topic but it is football related .
We all " draw the line " in different places - and we won't all agree but this issue is a matter of genuine debate .

It's a good point, but the FIFA Peace Prize thread was locked when that was an equally football relevant subject - the only reason that was political was because FIFA themselves chose to mix football and politics.

Sport and politics have always been inherently linked. Sometimes you just can't avoid it. I just suspect the mods will regard this subject as too political for a football forum.

I don't think there will be a boycott, but there may be a negative impact as many people may think twice about coming to the states. Couple that with the exorbitant ticket prices attendances could well be less than anticipated.

Totally get that - but surely if people can remain civil with each other ( respecting their opinion) then we should be able to have a civilised debate. It should not and does not need to get nasty
None of us can genuinely impact the outcome - but there are issues to be discussed and considered, Take for example Blingo ( fine character ) who I think lives in either Gibraltar or is it Malta - given his posting how would he feel about being taken over by a " foreign country " . It's interesting to understand what people are prepared to put up with.

There is no right answer - there never is but if it impacts the " beautiful game ' we surely all have an interest.

Gib Mr H. Been living the "another country" scenario since the "treaty of Utrecht" was signed lol.

I don't, with respect, think DT would be so concerned if a) Europe was strong enough to defend itself, and b) If Greenland gave the USA all mineral rights.

There are two reasons I would like to see a boycott.
1. Ticket Prices. I hate the idea that fans are going to be feathering the nests of the greedy rulers of football who do absolutely nothing for the betterment of the game. No proper fans should go, its a con and way too expensive. The leaders of football are to put it bluntly crooked as the proverbial nine biob note.

2. US politics toward Greenland is a bridge too far. Trump is threatening a peacful state, a member of NATO. If this was a Chinese or Russian invasion, they would be thrown out of FIFA. This action is an open sesame for Russia do as it wants in Ukraine and for China with Taiwan and the Japanese island.

It's a shame for the players but Trump has gone way to far and needs to be stopped.
