Everton in transfer tussle to sign Raul Jimenez from Fulham
Everton will reportedly look to sign 35-year-old Fulham striker Raul Jimenez in a Bosman move in the summer transfer window.

According to an update by Mexican journalist Christian Vaquero, Raul Jimenez is the subject of interest from Everton. The Toffees are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a striker in the coming months and have set their sights on the 35-year-old Fulham forward.

Everton will not be alone in the battle for Jimenez's signature, as he is also a target for Club America. Both clubs are closely monitoring the veteran striker's contract situation, hoping to secure a Bosman move this summer. However, with Fulham keen on tying the player to a new contract, his suitors must play the waiting game.

Raul Jimenez and his resurgence at Fulham
Raul Jimenez has established himself as one of the most underrated strikers in the Premier League since joining Fulham from Wolverhampton Wanderers in July 2023. While the experienced attacker was already in the English top flight for half a decade, he has unlocked new facets in his game during his spell with the West London club.

The 35-year-old has also shrugged off the effects of his head injury, which hampered him towards the end of his spell with the Black Country outfit. Jimenez initially shared game time with Rodrigo Muniz, but he has become the undisputed first-choice striker for Fulham in the last 12 months.

The 125-cap Mexican international has been impressive this season, amassing ten goals and three assists in 41 appearances across all competitions. Jimenez has been one of the most prolific strikers in the Premier League this season. However, with the player entering the final few months of his contract, the situation has piqued the attention of several well-known clubs, including Everton.

What next?
Everton's interest in Raul Jimenez is understandable. The Toffees are scouring the market for a striker, as they want an upgrade on Beto and Thierno Barry, particularly if they secure European qualification. While both attackers have impressed in fits and starts, they have not been as consistent as David Moyes would have liked.

Several candidates, including Ayase Ueda, have thus emerged on Everton's wishlist, with Jimenez also a viable target. While the Mexican striker will only be a short-term solution in the final third, he can be a top-class addition to the Merseyside club's offensive unit.

PL2 Player of the Season nomination for Ali Wahid

Farhaan Ali Wahid has been nominated for the PL2 Player of the Season award.

It's been an incredible first year at Under-21s level for Farhaan, who only signed his first professional contract last July.

The winger registered 17 goal contributions – ten goals and seven assists - in 21 PL2 appearances. A brilliant brace in a 2-2 draw against Manchester United was one of the highlights of a stellar individual campaign.

He received PL2 Player of the Month nominations in both September and November, winning the accolade in the penultimate month of 2025.

Farhaan's competition comes from Harrison Murray-Campbell and Shim Mheuka (both Chelsea), Braiden Graham and George Pickford (both Everton), Logan Briggs (Leicester), Kian Noble (Man City), and Kieran Morrison (Liverpool).

The winner will be announced on Tuesday 12th May.

Injury news: Kluivert set to return to squad for Fulham trip
Head coach Andoni Iraola expects Justin Kluivert to return to the AFC Bournemouth matchday squad for the first time in more than four months.

The Netherlands international had been out of action since January, after undergoing surgery on a knee injury following the Cherries' home clash against Arsenal.

But having been back in training over the past couple of weeks, Iraola confirmed Kluivert was set to return to the squad for Saturday's Premier League clash at Fulham (3pm kick-off).

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Iraola said: "Justin has been training with the team normally this week. I expect him to be in the squad."

The boss gave an update on Lewis Cook, who he confirmed is also back in training. The midfielder has been out since February after dealing with both hamstring and calf issues.

And while Saturday's trip to Craven Cottage may come too soon for the 29-year-old, Iraola confirmed Cook could feature in their final two top-flight games of the campaign.

"Lew also has been training, not fully, and is probably a little bit behind Justin in the process but is getting there," said Iraola.

"Probably not for tomorrow but he's training normally today and we will see. I hope Justin definitely and Lew can be available for the last two games."

Crystal Palace rivalling Fulham for the "next Iraola" who is set to leave his club
Crystal Palace and Fulham have both identified a manager likened to Andoni Iraola as a target to replace Oliver Glasner or Marco Silva, according to reports.

The two London clubs are heading into the summer with significant questions to answer in the dugout, and both have identified the same man as a potential solution.

 Palace have known since January that Glasner would be departing when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The Austrian leaves behind a considerable legacy — an FA Cup triumph, Community Shield success at the start of this campaign, and an historic Conference League run.

Palace sit 15th in the Premier League after a campaign disrupted by a nine-game winless run in mid-season and an FA Cup exit to non-league Macclesfield, but the European adventure has provided a compelling narrative to close the year.

Chairman Steve Parish is well advanced in his search for Glasner's replacement, with Frank Lampard, Iraola, Kieran McKenna and Marcelino among the names explored in recent weeks.

 Fulham's situation is murkier.

Silva's contract expires this summer and, despite the club tabling an offer to extend his stay, the Portuguese is yet to sign.

Fulham remain hopeful he will commit, with owner Shahid Khan making clear Silva is central to his long-term plans, and Silva himself has batted away Chelsea links with pointed dismissiveness.

But until ink hits paper, uncertainty remains.

As such, SportsBoom now report that both Palace and Fulham have identified Rayo Vallecano head coach Inigo Perez as a target, with sources indicating the 38-year-old is expected to leave the Spanish club at the end of the season.

 Spanish outlets have reported that Villarreal are the frontrunners for his signature domestically, but Perez is understood to be strongly drawn to the Premier League, and the comparison being made about him in Spanish football circles only adds to the intrigue.

He has been described as the "next Andoni Iraola".

That is not a casual label, either.

The two men share deep professional and personal ties. Perez was Iraola's assistant at Rayo before the latter departed for Bournemouth in 2023.

Kevin in contention to return for Fulham
Marco Silva has confirmed that Kevin is in contention to return from a foot injury for Fulham against Bournemouth on Saturday.

Kevin, 23, has been out of action since suffering a broken metatarsal against Sunderland in February.

"It is important for us. It's been a very difficult season in that aspect of the game (injuries)," said boss Silva.

Kevin's injury came "at his best moment" for Fulham since his club-record move from Shakhtar Donetsk last September, according to Silva, who hopes the winger can play a part in the Whites' late charge for a European place.

Ryan Sessegnon and Alex Iwobi are unavailable and Silva says Sander Berge is "trying his best" to recover from illness in time to be involved.

Raul Jimenez has also been ill but is expected to be in the squad.

The enormity of this weekend's meeting with Bournemouth is not lost on Marco Silva.

A 15-match unbeaten run has seen the Cherries jump up to sixth in the Premier League, but a win for Fulham would move us onto 51 points, just one shy of Saturday's opponents.

When asked about the importance of the fixture, Silva replied: "Big one. Big, big, big one.

"Going to the end [of the season], the games are getting bigger, getting more decisive. And if it's against a team that is around ourselves, above ourselves in the case of Bournemouth, I think the feeling is that it is even more decisive for us.

"Definitely is a big, big game. I'm not going to say that it is probably the most important of the season, because I don't go in that direction, because if you are going to get a good result, the next one is going to be even more important.

"But this definitely is a big, big one, where we have to reach the standards to be able to do what many, many times this season we have been doing at home. We have been very, very strong – if you look for the home table, the position that we are is a recognition of how strong we have been at home.

"We are going to play against a side in very, very good form. The momentum that they are getting week after week shows and represents their quality as well.

Team News: Kevin in contention
Marco Silva delivered some mixed team news ahead of Fulham's crunch match with Bournemouth on Saturday.

Two players are definitely out, and two are being assessed after struggling with illness, but we could see a welcome return for Kevin.

"Ryan Sessegnon, Alex Iwobi, they are going to be out of the game," Silva confirmed. "We had a difficult week with one or two. We have to keep assessing every single day.

"Sander is through the illness, but he's been the one that is suffering a little bit more. He felt something in the week of Brentford, was one of the reasons why he was not recovered for Villa, and last week he had probably a bigger one, and it's had an impact on him.

"He's trying his best, he's going to be in contention for the game. We have to assess him, to see if he's going to be in condition to start.

"Raúl, the same situation as well, we have to assess him. He's not training full week with the team, and we have to assess him tomorrow, too. But both are going to be in contention, and tomorrow I'm going to take a decision related with that situation."

Fulham have been without Kevin since the win in Sunderland in February, at a time when the winger was really beginning to find his feet in the team.

"Kevin is going to be back in contention," Silva revealed. "Long period without games, but a good week from him with the team, and he's going to be in contention to the game.

"It's important for us. It's been a very difficult season, in that aspect of game. In certain periods, we have been without key players for us.

"Unfortunately for us, almost more than half of the season just with one striker, squeezing Raúl as much as we can. It's not a normal situation, waiting a long period to see Rodrigo Muniz back in the best form possible.

"Of course, Raúl has been doing an incredible job and doing everything for the team, even sometimes under some difficulties he's doing his maximum as always for the team. And with Kevin, it's more or less the same situation.

"Probably in the best moment of him, when he's really adapted, when he's become decisive for us and a threat for the oppositions, he took a really difficult injury that completely broke the momentum for him and for the team.

"Now he's back, probably with two/three months with no football he's not in his best physical point of view, but we need him for the next three games, and he's going to be there for us to use him in the best way possible."

It's clear that despite some thinking that Fulham's season would be done and dusted by March, we're now into the merry month of May, and Fulham's season is still alive and kicking - with three games to go!

Last weekend was awful. A miserable evening in north London (forever) where the game was sewn up by half-time. Slumped in my seat, I had to endure the Arsenal fan's joy, while reading through justified angry and disgruntled comments from the Fulham faithful.

I had to regrettably miss a David Bowie tribute act evening that night at the Half Moon in Putney (of Fulhamish live podcast fame) due to the evening kick-off. The performance from Fulham lacked any Starman in black and white, with Marco Silva's side constantly under pressure at the Emirates.

But, because of the ridiculous nature of this season's Premier League, Fulham still have a shot at the big time - Europe. It's still on but, for about the millionth time, this is their last chance. We have to win. Some have explained that a draw is fine, as long as we win our next two. That may be the case, but I'd much rather be walking out of the Cottage tomorrow with all three points.

Not only is Europe still on, but all three of the UEFA competitions are up for grabs. Permutations upon permutations upon permutations. Sifting through them all will make your head spin, but there's a narrow and small chance that we could be seeing Scampi and Peas football at the Cottage next season. But, we have to pop those unbeaten Cherries - they haven't lost in 15 Premier League games.

Onto the press conference. Some big news regarding our favourite Brazilian winger: Kevin is back in contention after a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Only Alex Iwobi and Ryan Sessegnon will miss tomorrow afternoon's game.

"Sess and Iwobi will be out. Everyone else is available", said Silva.

"Sander had the illness, he's been suffering a little bit more - he's trying his best, he will be in contention. Raul didn't train for the full week because of the same thing. Kevin is back in contention.

"We've been squeezing the maximum out of Raul. He's been doing his best for the team. Kevin took a very difficult injury, which broke his momentum. Now he's back, maybe not in his best physical condition, we need him for the next three games.

"To lose Alex and Sess at this stage of the season is a big, big blow - for our left-hand side. It's not a moment to complain or cry about it. We have other solutions."

Silva emphasised how important this game is. Fulham need to try and replicate the type of performance shown in our last home game against Aston Villa, rather than what we saw last week against Arsenal.

With so many teams vying for the European places, clubs will drop points on a weekly basis - Fulham need to pick themselves up from last week and bounce back. Three points will see them go within a point of Andoni Iraola's side.

A defeat will probably end hopes of European football. But, Fulham have two home fixtures, with a final away game sandwiched in-between, against already relegated Wolves. Fulham's form at Craven Cottage has been strong this season, and Silva wants the Fulham fans to push his side as we reach the final three hurdles of this campaign.

"It's the most important (game) - It's a very, very important game for us. I want us to bounce back, I hope the fans are with us from the first minute, we need them to be with us", Silva added.

Fulham face 'serious kickback' from supporters after announcing ticket price rise
Fulham are among the Premier League clubs who could face strong protests from their fanbase in the near future.

That is according to former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking to Football Insider, after Fulham became the latest club to announce ticket price rises in a bid to raise further revenue.

The west London club announced season ticket prices would rise by 3.5% next season, as they say they are faced with increasing matchday operating costs.

Fulham currently have the most expensive adult season ticket in the Premier League, whilst the club have increased the capacity of Craven Cottage over the past season with the redevelopment of the Riverside Stand.

Craven Cottage can host up to 29,000 spectators, but remains one of the smallest grounds in the Premier League, which limits what the club can earn in matchday revenue compared to its rivals.

Premier League clubs 'testing their fans' over ticket price hikes
Everton's former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – says he is "disappointed" that Fulham have followed their competitors in increasing prices.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks more fan protests are only around the corner.
