Silva Free From Desire

Sliding down the table and no wonder. What's happened? Silva situation should have been sorted out ages ago and then announcement made..... instead of treating Fulham fanbase like a bunch of 5-year-olds by keeping silent.

Fulham had plenty of chances to score against rock bottom Wolves. But the lack of confidence cuts right though the team now. Is it any wonder they can't hit a barn door with a banjo??

Not much noise either, in the away section. Club anthem??? Singing section??? You're having a laugh.

Hopefully Silva will soon be Free with desire to leave the Cottage ASAP after 'crunch talks with the Board' at the end of the season, after another truly WOEFUL display.

Is that because he is maybe staying.

I hope not, we have been going backwards under Silva,

I know the last couple months haven't been great but I can't say we have gone backwards under Silverdale as we have been challenging for Europe these last two years. While we have dropped off for what ever reason that would be a reach for me.

Trying to see from both sides, he will want to do the best for him, we know it is t financial as he would have taken the mega money on offer from the Saudis and gone by now. There fore it has to be about the level and challenging for honours. If that's the case Be if a maybe of interest as it will be CL football albeit on half of what he earns with us (reportedly, but we know that isn't his driver). So if he wants to stay then he wants guarantees, he isn't alone bemoaning the lateness of our transactions in the window, maybe he wants guarantees written into his contract. That to me should be a consideration for him, something akin to if we agree we need 6 players then we need to have 2 thirds of them in place by pre season, and at least 2 need to be players we consider key signings.

From the club sides they have to take into account SCR, that is what makes things harder than ever. Fans don't want to pay more but to improve we need to sign players and pay more wages, that impacts how many we can sign and what level they are.that then impacts Silva and what he can do.

It's a vicious circle and all impacts everything.i know people won't agree with me but that's just my view after watching the last few games and trying to figure out what will happen. As you can see I haven't figured anything out lol

General

I saw our starting lineup today and realised that without Wilson, Jimenez and Chukwueze, our squad and first team of players who are still contracted with us aren't enough for Europe.

I think we've been tactically off since Jan, and I think some of the decisions have been slightly strange.

It's chalk and cheese from where we were earlier in the season when we were one of the most form teams in the league... and for me it illustrates that this team is capable of getting results and the players capable of doing well together, so it begs the question what changed?

For me it was tactics, but why? Did Marco get in his head, was it because he wasn't backed properly in January or last summer with a fully built out squad and the right players (e.g. pepi and a proper attacking CM which we've been craving), or, and this is a stretch, has he set us up to be nearly men..? To make a point to the ownership investment in the squad is desperately needed to compete at the level the Khans say they want to

It's the third year now we've seen such a drop off, so there is definitely cause for concern as to why, and it needs addressing.

It's not hard to be sympathetic to Marco or the players, but I can see why people are frustrated.

Agree general I can see why people are frustrated and annoyed. We have been in some super positions these last 2 seasons and then we tail off

13th, or possible 14th would be our worst season under Silva.

Yes it will be, but from where he took over we haven't gone backwards, maybe the last 8-10 games,es mean we have on this season but overall I can't say we have.

I'm twixt and between regarding Marco. It's very disappointing the last few weeks and it seems, on the face of it, he's gone as far as he can with this squad. If we can't change a large number then maybe it's best he goes but if we can change 7 or 8 then perhaps he and the team will be rejuvenated. Is it better the devil you know or do we go for a fresh face and risk relegation?
We have a large number of oldies on FoF, should we go broke and aim for a trophy or settle for mid-table safety? It's not a given that you return from the Championship immediately, thus losing younger fans to replace us old farts.

Abbotsbury White

So Jose has accepted the Real Madrid job and  will be their new manager, Benfica's No1 target is Marco, surely some announcement must be made very soon, Benfica will want someone in early to oversee plans for next season and I'm pretty sure they already have a verbal agreement in place.. Just hope we have been working behind the scenes preparing for this.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town.

I think we'll end up in a similar situation to 2012-14.. Hughes leaving us due to "lack of ambition" and failing miserably elsewhere.

Hopefully the part where we get relegated can be avoided this time. Our squad is certainly better than the 13/14 one, which was absolute dogwater from memory.

We have never been challenging for Europe!
Flirting with the possibility of Europe maybe but we have never looked like holding a place in the Euro spots for any length of time.

Fair enough poor wording on my part
