And another thing. The end of season lap of honour/appreciation takes place so long after the game these days. Always a great way to end the season but I'm not waiting around. Surely the post match press interviews can wait 10 minutes?

I was at Lord's last night so have no real desire to see what will probably be a non contest tomorrow - Middlesex are the worst team in T20 whereas Surrey will probably be fielding a team of internationals. No real desire to go to the Cottage to see a bunch of millionaires going through the motions either.

The beauty of cricket is that winning isn't the be all and end all, it never has been and never will be, when Brian Lara scored 405 against England all the England supporters stood and applauded,
If a Newcastle player scores tomorrow no Fulham supporter will stand and applaude,
Tomorrow at The Cottage is all about wanting your team to win, tomorrow at Lords is all about wanting to see good cricket being played.

As a Middlesex supporter, I want to see my team win whenever possible. But of course, you appreciate and applaud good play by your opponents.

I'm an ex-league cricketer and go to a lot of professional games. I will say that County cricket is excellent value, but international cricket is worse value than PL football by several orders of magnitude.

The grounds are certainly a lot nicer though, and it's more family friendly.

When England beat India at Headingley on Day 5 last summer, I had two tickets in the Long Room for the princely sum of £10 each , I'd call that incredible value 😀

Well day 5 is always basically free, and with good reason these days.

After the match tomorrow, I've got a feeling most people will wish they'd gone to the cricket.  The skunks have hit form and we've, well, gone to dogdirt! A manager who doesn't know if he wants to stay or go in a dead rubber match. Hopefully we'll thump them, but I'd guess that's probably only about a 5 percent chance!
