If we want to bring in better quality players to take us to the next level we do need a type of manager who will influence that type of player to sign for us. It will be a gamble which ever way the club go.
I expect Poch & Fab could be managers who could command that respect.
I look at the likes of McKenna or Frank and think what type of player could they entice to the club and don't see the same from Managers who haven't experienced either playing or managing those type of players or clubs.

Pochettino would be my preferred choice but it's a big ask and not sure owner & board would take to kindly to his ambition!
Depending on how desperate he is to get back in and whether he would be interested I wonder if someone like Xavi might be tempted? We would be very much a stepping stone but it would put him back in the spotlight? Could you imagine how he would improve our players technically. If your second touch is a foul you won't last long with him?
Martinez apparently wants back in to club management? Plays expansive football defensively there's a question mark? Would be aware of a lot of young talent playing international football.

A quote from an interview Pochettino recently conducted when asked about his future he made out he didn't know anything and was concentrating 100% on the world Cup but he expects his agent to be seeking out all opportunities for him.He will also sit down and discuss the opportunity of extending his USA contract. Any agreement, verbal or other, between the club and Poch would almost certainly leak to the press. And even if we didnt have one, but we just simply waited for him, there would be no guarantee that he would join us and we would have waisted a huge part of the summer.

Even if we did eventually get him, he would have limited time to get the team into his philosophy, for him to get the players he wants and so on.

So even if I do like the optimism from (what I assume is mostly our US fanbase?) some, this is not the summer for us to be messing around. There needs to be a manager in place early doors for him to set his training and tactics and he needs to be backed financially by the club to get the players needed. Because I firmly believe that Marco was one of the main reasons we are a steady mid table side. If we mess up our recruitment in management, we could quickly find us in a relegation scrap

There were people on here suggesting that Silva was destined for a big job in the Prem. Out of the 2 Poch has more chance of a top 6 job than Silva's ever did.

Because in effect we are managerless and the transfer season is well underway. New managers will always have some new ideas and whoever it is needs time to get players in/out and then with the squad for pre season.
