I dont know if we have Thyme

Maybe Sage could persuade Pepi to accompany him? And throw Basile Boli into the mix as a bit of garnish?

I would prefer Pochettino over him, but then I would prefer Ruben over McKenna.
Ruben looked out of his depth at Man Utd.

He's out of his depth in English Football.

Amorim picked up quite a bit of praise yesterday from Manchester United for the job he did in clearing out all the trouble makers and getting all the bad influences out of the dressing room,
He was credited yesterday for setting the stage for Carrick to take over,
I'd urge anyone to take a couple of minutes to read his Wikipedia page, his achievements in the game or on another level compared to Marco Silva.

I think Amorim is not a bad option. Probably has a chip on his shoulder considering what happened at United. Marco had one on his as well when he came back to English football. We have a very good and established squad that he can build up in small doses.

Wasn't the whole thing that he insisted with a system refusing to change it when things went wrong? Do we really need that - to get demoted trying to prove a technical point. I think they were bottom 5 when Carrick (a relatively inexperienced manager) took over and he brought them up to 3rd with the same players. Why would we want Amorin? It'd surely be a disaster. At best he's proved he's a good manager who couldn't adapt to the PL

Amorim has never strayed away from 3 CBs and no dedicated wingers his entire career . 3-4-3/3-5-2/3-2-5, whatever iteration depending of being on attack or defending.
Why is anyone intrigued by him coming to Fulham? Cuenca possibly gone, is there really such will among fans to ship out Kevin and Bobb and spend most of our transfer budget on pleasing him by getting 4 new CBs?
A good CV and isolated qualities as a coach is one thing, being a good fit for the club is something entirely different imo.

I think those are questions anyone interviewing him should ask. I imagine they asked it when Silva was being interviewed as well in regards to his Everton sacking. If plan A fails, do you go to Plan B or do you keep trying to make Plan A work?

We have different player profiles than United did, not to mention there's just naturally more pressure there - not to downplay what's here. Our foundation in terms of a core group is solid and disciplined. What he walked into wasn't that at all. He saw a breakdown and tried to fix it to the core with consistency in the system - and to a fault. Those United players had to believe in him somehow, and if he strayed away from consistency, he felt they would stray as well. I think that's important context to address.

From a technical point of view, the system covers what we already have. No more Andersen vs Diop debate, we've got 3 center backs in Amorims' 3-4-3 of Diop-Andersen-Bassey. The double pivot is established with Lukic and Berge. They don't have to be super creative because the front three work on the vertical progress up the field. Jedi/Sess and Castagne/Tete - doing what they've already done whether it be staying wide or tucking in as false fullbacks. Iwobi as inside forward on the LW, Bobb on the right to cut inside, attract overloads with Castagne. The only area of concern is striker, which it will be no matter what manager we have. The concern I would have is can Andersen and Diop have the pace to recover, or will Lukic and Berge have to counter-press more often. Other than that - tactically it's not exactly forcing a square peg in a round hole.

You've somehow missed the point, they weren't the same players, Amorim inherited a toxic dressing room and extracted the likes of Garnacco, Rashford and Sancho, players that Carrick didn't have to deal with,
Carrick deserves immense praise but it was Amorim that did the heavy lifting to create the environment for him to shine,
None of the issues that he walked into at Old Trafford exist at Craven Cottage, I for one would be happy to see him given a chance though I expect there are contractual issues relating to his time at Old Trafford that would make him joining us an issue.

Really any manager is a gamble as was silva, it begs the question why isn't there managers performance reviews clause penalties in there contracts when taken on.

You will have to ask Everton as I was not in attendance when Everton allegedly made those remarks.
Whether they did or did not, is history.
My only concern is that Fulham pick a Manager that can continue what Silva started and take Fulham a step further, not backwards not stationary.
It's never an easy task unless the manager has an open cheque book as a crutch to lean on to be in a position to buy the best players.
As Pep had the good fortune to be in that position.
Even then he still has to get a tune out of the team, with a higher expectancy.
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘

Amorim? Nah, inflexible and arrogant beyond belief in the way he tried to force fit his tedious set up on an entirely unsuitable squad.

No, thats exactly what I meant. All those players you mentioned were not part of United last season, and Amorims still struggled. Carrick came in, inherited the same squad and changed system and style of play and got amazing results

Sounds like Palace have their man! Glasner looking like going to Milan as well. Palace tying up new manager should give us a bit more scope now considering they had an distinct advantage what with European football.
Looks like Shad has a free run!

To answer my question as to "Who do you want to replace Marco Silva ", the manager I would give my right arm for is Regis Le Bris at Sunderland, they played a wonderful style of football last season and it was a close call between Iraola and Le Bris as to who was manager of the year,
If we've got £8 million to throw at McKenna then we've also got money to throw at Le Bris,
Whether or not you would leave a Club like Sunderland to join Fulham well that's another matter, but they certainly couldn't match the wages we could offer,
Money talks and Managers walk.
