Anyone else feel flat this morning ?

For me too many fans on this board are way to negative over the recent days. Fans that u der Silva were typically very positive. We suddenly have an opportunity to push on where Silva struggled and all I am hearing is people being negative and whining about X manager wouldn't come here etc.

Why wouldn't they? We have been saying how we are an established PL team, mid table and on the verge of getting Europe. Why wouldn't managers want to come to us.

Need to keep positive people

Specifically which of the managers do you think will come to us that people are saying won't?

From my POV people are saying Glasner, Slot, Fabregas, Guardiola won't come to us.

The complaint about the others is that they'd be bad appointments, not that they won't come.

Glasner is the only one with a slight chance, but also very unlikely.

Of your list I could see Glasner or Slot being outside chances.  but I can see Frank fitting in, would certainly be an improvement on MS particually if he can achieve similar recruitment he did woth Brentford.

I quite like Hellberg but he hasn't made the betting so far. Howe would be an option also.

I just feel a bit soured the way Marco played the Khans and Ali Mac in the last few weeks by wanting the best of all worlds when he knew he would be leaving. So flat no, just a little sad, not as sad as when we sacked Slav. I don't know why but i loved Slav and still wish he was here but appreciate he was a bit short of quality at the end. Who do i want to replace Marco? My first choice was Danny Rohl but he's at Rangers, Liam before his Chelsea debacle. Was a big fan of McKenna but feel he's stagnated at Ipswich and their current squad is poorer than the last time they were in the Prem. So in the end we most stop H4 warming up, get him out of that moth eaten taxi and give him a 5 year contract. COYW

Brentford improved when he left, and they employed their free kick coach instead. He had worse players to work with too.

Frank would be a massive downgrade on Silva.

Frank's coaching background was "Talent development" and the whole recruitment strategy at B'ford is different to ours.
If Frank came in there would have to be big changes in how we recruit for the club to get the benefit of his experience.

Ordinarily change and the prospect of a new dawn can bring optimism and excitement. I feel none of that this morning.

I was very much hoping that Marco would stay but it imperative that if he did, he still maintained the same passion and desire for the role that he once showed. Sadly that Marco oomph had diminished to some extent the last 6 months and I was hoping that it was just a blip. 

Sadly that change in body language was indeed a signal that perhaps his journey at Fulham had run its course. For what it's worth I think he may well be the best manager in my lifetime (aged 53), with only the Tigana playbook/swagger and the Hodgson European adventure ranking in equal merit.

Our team over the last 5 years has strived to play attacking football, recruitment whilst not perfect has sought players with high levels of  technical ability and our league position has been strong with some great results against the big teams along the way. Even our performances in the cups has shown a consistency that we have not seen before.

Also don't underestimate the cohesion of the dressing room. Players seem happy at Fulham, the socials and my own on field observations have led me to believe that Marco helped create a very positive working environment.

So as I awake this morning, forgive me for being subdued but I fear the future may not match the enjoyment/success of the last 5 years.

This appointment feels absolutely critical. We have created premier league stability and feel on the verge of possibly pushing for Europe. Equally a bad appointment, an incorrect change in playing style / atmosphere and we are on the cusp of decline, player dissatisfaction and a very difficult season.

I implore the Khans to speak to the global football world (in a similar fashion to that of Al Fayad) and genuinely find a coach who can build on what Marco has achieved and bring an excitement and optismisn to the fan base that right now is feeling deflated...

Expect the team were happy what with being on holiday from March the last few years!

It's probably a better data led system!

Brighton's seems very interesting as they've bought and then sold players at large profits. The guy behind Brighton had also had input at Union St Gilloise in Belgium, who subsequently won their first title since 1930 and at Hearts who were unfortunate not to win SPL this year.

Frank did really well at Spurs winning 2 of his last 17 games. You'd have to do well to do any worse than that really. And with the same players that De Zerbi got playing well at the end of the season.

I don't particularly want Frank but it's worth remembering that during Frank's time at Spurs the injury list there undoubtedly didn't help him. A lot of the players available to De Zerbi weren't available to Frank.

Suspect our summer will be full of speculation. Lots of comings and going if we ever get a new person in.
But Silva had been saying for months that he and the board had been focusing on players to bring in summer, included the Pepi debacle, and now we will be in a bit of a limbo with transfers and preseason fixtures along with the training and players getting use to new tactics.

As usual when we change managers, I actually have a surge of excitement about what may be to come if we get the appointment right. Despite all the great things he did for us, Marco's football had become turgid, predictable and dull to watch.

I'm also confident SK will get this appointment right. Probably the best footballing decision he has made since he's been here was appointing Marco out of absolutely nowhere.

I love the whispers of Derek McInnes as Hearts have played outstanding, exciting football this season with an approach of 'we'll just score more than you' - would love some of that excitement to get the Cottage rocking again, but I think once again it will probably be someone who has managed in the EPL, but now fallen off the radar, such as Ralph Hassenhuttl, Javi Garcia (only names that spring to mind right now as examples, but probably not them) or similar.
