All topping their respective groups. 7 wins 2 draws and no defeats. I read that every player competing at the world Cup earns their club 250,000 and I also read in a different article they accumulate more money the longer they stay in the tournament. Keep it up lads. COYW

Didn't know that but it makes sense.   ::scarf::

Ex Fulham Cameron Burgess helps USA with an own goal.

Beamer

I didn't see the Diop card against Scotland but some chat about it being a red. Did anyone see it, how blatant was it.

john dempsey

 Mr.Diop, could be joining Mr.Cohen.
Morocco look a very talented side.

jarv

I saw it.  Border line red until the slow motion, definite red but still a bit soft. I dont want to be too biase but the ref was dodgy on a few occasions. There were some other fouls which were definite and he waved play on. Never in Scotland's favour.

Having said that, Morocco were very good. Much fitter and faster throughout.

We could raise a pretty good team with players and ex-'players' in the World Cup. Playing in the traditional 8-3-1 formation, so we wouldnt even bother with a keeper and hope the ref doesnt count very well:
Defence: Spence, Castagne, Burn, De Fougerolles, Ream, Diop, Burgess, Robinson
Midfield: Berge, Bobb and Eze
CF: Jimenez

Saw Kasey Keller in the crowd at the USA game yesterday. Could he fill the keeper slot?

So all our boys are through the group stage and Luc de Fougerolles has made it through the first knock out game. Each player now earns their club $5000 a day from the day after their group games finished. I believe Raul will stop earning us money after Mexico first knock out game because he would officially become a Wolves player from the 1st July.

What do you mean earning their clubs $5000? Who's paying this? Fifa?

yes, they already pay $250,000 for every player until the day after their group games finished, then it's $5000 a day until the day after they get knocked out.

Certainly playing 12 players would help

Ah, okay. So we've made $1.75m so far from this WC + the extra $5ks.

Jim©

For keeper, couldn't Andre Arendse fill the spot? Went to WC with S Africa.

Here's the payment breakdowns and eligibility:  FIFA Club Benefits Program

Daily Compensation: Clubs receive a set daily payout (approximately $5,000 or more) for every day their player is away on international duty for qualifiers and the finals.

Eligibility: This money is paid to any club the player was registered with during the two years leading up to the tournament.

Prize Money Distinction: Any on-field performance bonuses or prize money go directly to the national team's football federation (e.g., The FA, US Soccer), which then decides how to distribute rewards to its players

The compensation mechanism was designed to reward all clubs equally and transparently for the time that their registered players spend at the FIFA World Cup.

The total amount allocated for the FIFA Club Benefits Programme is divided by the total number of days spent at the tournament by all the players involved. This equation produces a "per player, per day" figure that can be used to calculate the benefits owed.

The daily participation figure is then multiplied by the number of days that a player spends at the tournament, which comprises the period from his release for the competition to the date of his national team's last match. Therefore, the further a national team progress at the tournament, the more that team's players will earn for their respective clubs. All players within a national-team squad are allocated an equal benefit amount, irrespective of their playing time at the competition.

Previous Payments:
The total amount allocated to the Club Benefits Programme for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ was USD 209 million. This sum was divided by the total number of participation days to arrive at a rounded figure of USD 10,950 per player, per day owed to clubs.
Logical is just in the name - don't expect it has anything to do with my thought process, because I AM the man who sold the world.

Thank you. I didn't even think Fifa compensated clubs. But at least this adds a tiny bit to our transfer budget, maybe.

Thailand Mick

Our boys keep going this time Berge and Bobb are through to the next round and Raul has Scored on his last official day as a Fulham player to progress. Unfortunately Wolves will now earn his extra money from tomorrow. Any players unregistered from tomorrow their money will go into the pot which will increase the $5000 a day payment.

Thailand Mick

All our boys are through to the last 16 after an eventful day. Well done to Castagne and Robinson also Tim Ream. They will now play against each other. We are guaranteed at least 2 players in the last 8 but at least 2 will be coming home.
