The only minutes i watched were a bit of Canada's first game, to see our youngster in action.

Crack on England

I want England to do well, but the social/antisocial behaviour will make it a negative anyway.

If you like football then The World Cup is still the pinnacle. The issue nowadays like most major football tournaments is they get watered down having to shoe horn in all these extra teams and games. Have to say I think it's been a decent start across the board. Be interesting how the last 32 pans out as you would imagine there will be a few decent match ups? More than likely it will be last 16 when WC really gets going.
Lots of plus points so far. Teams like Japan Morocco South Korea no longer just making up the numbers.

C Block

I haven't watched one single second of any game yet, and I've not seen a single goal,
My heart is still stuck in 1974,78 and 82
I might take an interest in the semi finals or the Final, but I have no interest at the moment.

One single second you claim ?
Hmmm
Have you any proof of your feelings regarding this matter.
For instance, CCTV footage, independent witnesses or photographic evidence.
How do we know that you are not checking out the WC all under cover wearing a balaclava whilst nobody is looking.

Will you then stop every Italian you come across and demand to know why.
Of course it might have something to do with Italy not qualifying.
Nevertheless that is no excuse.

My heart is stuck in Mexico 1986 .Having left home in 1984 supposed to go travelling for 6 months .
Went To India ,Asia, then spent a year in Australia and 6 months in NZ.Found myself in LA in May 1986 working in a backpackers hostel.Met some English lads and a car was purchased headed to Monterrey for group games and then onto Mexico City for knock out games.Headed to Acapulco after Argentina game. Then decided to go back to try and see the final . No chance of tickets ,but saw an opportunity and we were in .I ended up on the pitch right behind Maradona holding the trophy .Fulham website did an article about me titled Duncan and Diego.Google Duncan Coales Mexico 1986,the Daily Mirror did a great article.

I'm shocked by how many people say this, I don't get it as football fans that you don't watch any games at all.
It's my chance to scout a few players for Fulham. So far the Moroccos young bouaddi has been the best I've seen. Ivory coasts young number 26 also very good!

Not heard of any antisocial behaviour,
just heard of positivity and fun.

The World Cup, the top competition in the game, is on. Let's crank-up the Misery Meter!

Alternative: It's not a WC year. Isn't it boring in the summer with nothing going on?

F(f)CUK

I have been enjoying the competition. The England game was the highlight for me so far. Not often that you can say that.

Woolly Mammoth

Excellent.
Then we are all agreed, enjoy the World Cup Finals, as they only come round every 4 years.
Anyone found not enjoying them or not even bothering to watch, so they say.
Should be banished to a life term of hard labour at a certain location that has been in the local news occasionally, located somewhere in and around the Hammersmith End.

I have a friend who swears he has not watched one bit, unfortunately his wife tells a different story.
Story of my life
"I was looking back to see if she was looking back to see if i was looking back at her"
Sadly she wasn't

I like big football tournaments and I cannot lie.

Didn't Nick Bateman say he refuses unreservedly to watch a single second of any match, apart from the water breaks, or am I thinking of someone else.

Here are some things I'm uninterested in:

- The Ashes
- Most west end theatre
- Visiting Sunderland for a holiday
- Snails for food
- Most science fiction books
- The piccadilly line

Dont mean i'm gonna start a thread about them though

Ronnief

I enjoy watching football full stop. Fulham are my main interest but I will watch any standard. My local club is an alternative to Fulham and TV matches whether they be World Cup or Non league are of interest. However I will not be watching matches in the middle of the night.  ::scarf:: The

The only reason I'm not interested in this WC is because Ireland is not in it  ::cry::

love4ffc

I enjoy watching football, so yes, I'm watching several of the games.  Not all, but most.

Sadly, like all football compitetions now a days, several ref controversies are plaguing the WC.  Absolutely hate the new rule about covering your mouth, and it's an automatic red card.  Stupid rule.
Anyone can blend into the crowd.  How will you standout when it counts?

Not guilty Mammoth. The thing I like the most of this World Cup is the refereeing. They are resisting giving soft free kicks or "dives" and seem genuinely trying to be neutral. The water breaks is the worst thing of this tournament but it suits the American TV with "commercials". The hand over mouth is another poorly thought out rule as stated above.
