apparently Arbeloa may be announced today - I'd be surprised if Palhinha fits into what he wants to build as we're now focusing on bringing in younger talents to take us to the next stage and Arbeloa is into youth development. With SCR rules coming in, we probably can't waist money on players who've got maybe a year or two left in their careers.

Let's move on already, shall we?  Can't move forward if we're always talking about bringing past FFC players back into the fold, especially players beyond their 'use by' date.  Sure, Palhinha had some great success in a FFC shirt, but that is old news.  Over the last several seasons the games I've seen him play just don't measure up anywhere near what we saw at CC.  This club needs to move forward, not backwards.  JMHO

I thought his preference was a return to Portugal with Sporting. Thought I read or  it was rumoured somewhere that he had split from his wife and he wanted to go to Portugal to be near his kids

Personally - Joao is one of the few players to have left the club that I would want back. However, I think it would have to be for a much lower transfer fee (maybe £10m) and it looks as if he would have to accept a pay cut as he is apparently on at least £135k per week.

However, I can't see it happening now that Marco has left. The new manager will want his own players, and re-signing a player who was brought to the club by the previous incumbent would not send a good signal with regard to his vision and plans moving forward.

I know....

I think you would find that Tosh is a  bit too stiff to play on the wing.
