Has been told that he won't be rejoining Spurs next season,
Would you be happy to see him join us next season and be given the Captains armband?
I would, I'm fully supportive of plenty of youngsters in the side but you still need a couple of experienced players as well and Joao fits the bill for me.

Only if we get him in cheap, i.e. less than £20m

FFC007

Hell yes....

He chips in with goals, and I think is better than Berge.

Carborundum

Huge upgrade on what we have

I am not so sure. I always felt that Berge was playing to orders.

Wow, incredible news.
Clearly Spuds are having a major clear out and re build, never intending to be near relegation from the Premiership again
Joao chose to move on, never quite making the same impact as at Fulham
One for the new manager to make a call I think

No, Marco is gone and a big no to the captain's armband.
When life sends you rain showers, play in the puddles!

I'm surprised. He did well near the end.

This obsession with Palhinha needs to stop.

An about be to 31 year old player (in July) who relies on athleticism in their game is not who we should be signing. He is not going to be an ageless wonder because that is not his game. We have limited resources as a club and going back to the well for a player over 30 that isnt on a free is a bad investment.

Berge/Lukic are not the issue with this team. A reliable #10 (ESR is not consistent enough and King is TBD) and a strong #9 are the issues. Love Tete but when he is out it becomes a major weakness for us. Those are the spots.

Literraly the best defensive midfielder we ever had.

ffcne

Should imagine he will go back to Portugal.
Maybe to Benfica,

Wouldn't mind having Tosh back on the left wing either*

* If you know, you are of a certain age.....

A big yes from me although I can't see it happening with Marco now gone. If the new plan is to reduce the team's age, that's fine and I'm all for taking a gamble on the Real Madrid youth players but we know what we are getting with JP. Somebody who can protect our vulnerable back line and can chip in with crucial goals, which probably (and unfortunately) kept Spurs up last year.

I rate him as the best player we've had in the last 10 years by a distance.

I doubt he'll come back though. In a football focus interview I heard him say how Marco was his inspiration etc so, as someone else mentioned, I think it likely he'll go to Benfica.

Also, I was calling for Andersen to come back as i thought he was brilliant while on loan for us. He's just not performed at that level since his return in my opinion and same could happen with Joao, especially as he seems to have struggled to make an impact since leaving us. Maybe best to move on but what a player he was for us...

Remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
I will be as good as I can be and when I cross the finishing line I will see what it got me

He certainly wasn't struggling to make an impact last season was he, almost single handedly kept Spurs up, their supporters absolutely love him.
