None of those people are older than the ground. They all chose to live there, knowing the stadium existed.

I bloody hate it when people choose to live near things and then complain about those exact same things.

If you don't want to be around football stuff, don't live next to a football stadium! 

Exactly, our local golf course is built beside a a camping round, which was sold to a developer. He then built 10 houses in that area, and within a year or 2 the owners complained to the club about golf balls hitting their houses. So now the club has to alter the affected hole so players hit away from the fence, defies logic....

Don't get me started... we had people moved into the local village on the edge of Scarborough and moaned about the Church ringing it's bells on a Sunday morning...

We have the same problem with our cricket club, founded in 1872, 154 years ago, with cars parked around the ground and houses alongside. It was there well before any houses were built or the combustion engine invented

TBF if there was one on footpath right outside my house and it blocked the view or sunlight from a window I would be annoyed. along the park that's another matter.  It's a way for the council to make some some dough...

I should think it would have to be an enormous banner to block your view or sunlight.

In my view FFC and the Riverside are local ammentities that add to the health and wellbeing of local people, so the council should be promoting them for free.
 
The club also increases footfall in Bishops Park and Local shops and hostelries, so there is a natural mutuallly supportive relationship.

Do not get me started on how people park up their chelsea tractors in the streeets though.

The facility is well promoted away from the ground and the locals gained access to the Riverside Path in exchange for the planning permission.

I suspect that it would be more disturbing for the locals to be constantly asked for directions.

Apparently a straw poll indicated that the top of the list of people constantly asking locals directions to Craven Cottage was TK.

The residents do not know what a gem they have to live by.  A football national treasure.

In one of the first reviews of the swanky restaurant in Fulham Pier, Grace Dent said that she arrived in Stevenage Road in a taxi and couldn't find the entrance to the restaurant.  So if the signs help the restaurant succeed, then it's all good.
