Who remembers Juventus?

Going into the game that night at Craven Cottage we were already 3-1 down. No sooner had my bum hit the seat. They got another.
Game over really.
Till some madman got to his feet in the Stevenage Road and started the 'Stand Up if You Love Fulham' chant. (Cravenette has corrected me, it was of course 'Stand up if you still believe'). It went round the whole place. I'm not sure if the players heard it. Never read that in the press reports but it lifted me.
Think we could do with a little of that back down at the Cottage!

Yes I mentioned that match on another thread - what a difference our support made to the team that night - and what a night it was.  Definitely my best Fulham game ever.  When Clint's goal floated in in front of the Hammy End we all went wild.  I never get tired of watching the replay - especially when I need cheering up after a bad run for us!!

stand up if you believe and over 50 years supporting Fulham the most uplifting period at the cottage and it spread trough to Murphy and the team.now is that time again.

Its ok to say stand up if you still believe but what are you asking us to believe in?  The tooth fairy?  Santa? That Fulham can beat Liverpool? 

I look back on that era with as much fondness as anyone but back then we had the personnel.

I believed in Hodgson.  I believed in Murphy, Schwarzer, Zamora, Dempsey, Duff etc etc.

Who out of this rabble to you believe in at the moment?  I certainly can't believe AA. Not on what I ve seen and heard from him so far.  I dont believe in Andersen, Berge, or Bobb.  About the only one I believe in is Josh King and he won't be here in 2 years.

Probably the most negative take I've read on things a few games into the season.
3 games in the league, one in the cup. An XG against in those three games almost identical to the same games last season. An improved XG for, despite somehow scoring less.
So you have little faith in Garcia? Robinson? Bassey? Charles has looked good, you're yet to see Larsson and Affengruber or Angel.
I'd love us to beat Liverpool not for the points but to put and end to this unbelievable pessimism that seems to have taken over some people.

I don't remember it at Juventus game. I recall quite a few people around me who'd made the mad dash from work (as had I) and were actually quite wound up! As soon as we made it 1-1 on the night and kept pushing everyone was virtually rabid. Had rarely seen such a passionate crowd at the Cottage.

I couldn't be there as I was on a ski holiday. I made a dash off the slopes and found a bar with sport on. I asked them to switch to the football and the answer was, "but the match is on later tonight". They were referring to Liverpool's fixture! Anyhow there were a couple of other guys in the bar who turned out to be Liverpool fans and they chimed in with, come on mate put the Fulham game on. By the time the match was turned on Juve were one up. What a night followed and I have to say that everyone in that bar was going crazy, not just me as a Fulham fan! I will never, ever forget that night in a bar in Austria.

At least you were lucky enough to see it Twig. The only game we missed as on holiday in the Maldives. Switched on my small world service radio at two in the morning for the result and thought I must have misheard.
