I think I'm seeing a lot of Puffy Talk regarding FFC and where they stand in this league.  Don't get me wrong, loved the result at Anfield, but FFC has produced just one decent game in four outings.  Some that assume we will be comfortable and easily finish above a minimum of three teams as a result of this game are assuming a lot.  We need to see progress and some results in these upcoming games, starting with our next home game.  I am definitely encouraged by this road point, but still want to see how this team moves forward.  COYW!

We may have lost but we certainly was not really outplayed in any, imo!

I'd include Everton, Leeds, Brighton and Bournemouth
Possibly Villa too

And Spurs. If they don't score a goal all season they will only get a maximum of 26 points

Ok BOB, point taken.  I've noted in previous threads/posts that all these losses were by a single tally, so, true, FFC has yet to be torn apart.  That said, all the whining, crying, hand wringing after 3 losses in a row in this forum were palpable.  And let's be honest, in every game there was concern noted at how open we were on the counter, how defensively we were always vulnerable.  My point still stands, that what we need to see is follow through and building on the Liverpool result.  This team still needs to show consistent winning ways as it still sits in the drop zone.  And things won't get much easier, as a couple of the promoted teams look to be deserving of top flight, and teams like Spurs and ManU will undoubtedly have better seasons than last year.  Big challenge this w/e v ManU at CC, they have quite a few really good players.  But, so do we.  Let's see some follow through and hopefully a result......

No-one was ever relegated in September... have an ounce of patience please....
If we are in the bottom three just before Christmas then I will agree with you... but for God's sake, it's the 2nd week of September...

Promoted teams often show promise early doors, but can just as easily drop off during the season.
I (personally) will not be too despondent and asking for sackings, booing etc, if we lose to Man ure! It certainly will not define the season imo

I don't know about that. They look like a pretty cohesive unit, high energy with good technical ability.

I think we will finish above Coventry, Hull, Ipswich, Palace and Sunderland. But, there are teams like Everton, Bournemouth, Forest and even Brentford who don't look much better than us when you look at their squads.

So whilst I would be happy with 15th place this season after our poor start, if we can get (say) 12 plus points from the next 6 games, then I will certainly start looking at us challenging for the top 10.

tim sherwood on sky just suggested his bottom 3   coventry fulham and ipswich.

he said he thinks the first managerial casualty will be arbeloa, thinks the open style of play is admirable but he wasnt impressed that its going to work.

thats the first time ive heard a pundit not tip the 3 promoted clubs to go down this season.

sunderland look far too good to get into any trouble despite losing to a late goal at ipswich?   and ipswich stuggled to put 10 man palace away. palace could be in trouble this seaason. and spurs should be.  coventry look nailed on but its early doors.
