Who are the 3 teams

Great point yesterday and an improved, more solid performance against a top side. We are all happy with that. What I am thinking about more broadly though is who are the 3 teams that are going to be in trouble? I mean who will we finish above? Hull and Ipswich have already proved they will give the season a real go. Our defeat against Palace was a bad one for us as otherwise they look like they may struggle. The others right now, Spurs, Villa will no doubt improve. Long season i know but can't see 3 obvious relegation candidates this season.

It depends what Fulham side turns up week in week out. If we play like we did yesterday, we will be absolutely fine and finish comfortably mid table. Defend like we did in our two home games then we'll be scrapping at the bottom.

I like to think we'll finish above, Ipswich, Coventry and Palace. Hull will surely start getting found out at some point too .

Hull and Ipswich will drop off IMO. Ipswich will be the most likely to stay up. Coventry are stuffed.

Dark horses for relegation: Palace and maybe even Spurs if their notoriously fairweather fans get on the mercenaries' backs.

Yes, exactly my point. We will no doubt improve, but we need at least 3 teams to be worse than us. Hull have 8 point already, and Ipswich 6. We need to use yesterday as a springboard and pick up 3 wins from our next 5 or 6 games. Crucially we cannot afford to lose to the newly promoted teams.

You just never know at this stage. An injury crisis can hit any club, look at Spurs last season, everyone likes to joke about them but they would not even have been close to the trap door without so many players ruled out long term. I always look at getting to a point a game, and anything above is a bonus. Don't care about other results, there is a finite number available across the whole league. At the moment we are well below. And that worries me more than the form of Hull, Ipswich or anyone else for that matter.

The OP raises an important point which is exactly my concern. If it's not going to be the promoted three, I'd be very concerned that our b*llocks could be on the chopper

It's still very early days. The league usually starts to settle down in November so it's difficult to begin to make forecasts in early September. Having said that I'd be surprised if we finished below any of the promoted sides and although Palace beat us they haven't looked good so far.

Coventry are the only team I can't see staying up at all. They are dreadful. Not sure why they thought that squad was good enough either. I look at that team and I see a Championship team. It's somewhat similar to the Burnley team under Kompany, maybe even worse.

I think I'm seeing a lot of Puffy Talk regarding FFC and where they stand in this league.  Don't get me wrong, loved the result at Anfield, but FFC has produced just one decent game in four outings.  Some that assume we will be comfortable and easily finish above a minimum of three teams as a result of this game are assuming a lot.  We need to see progress and some results in these upcoming games, starting with our next home game.  I am definitely encouraged by this road point, but still want to see how this team moves forward.  COYW!
