...really hard for the ref to not give a pen. Don't like it, but Zhirkov plays the ball through his legs and there is clear contact between him and Smalling. Not saying that I agree, but can also see why it is given.

Agreed I think it was a penalty, albeit there was no intent from Smalling.  He was merely following up the ball that deflected off his toe, but got there too slowly.

+1, he just stood his ground, that david luiz or whatever his name is should have been sent off, and then this "penalty"

Apparently one of the nicest people in football, started his career at Fulham - I'll be following him with great interest.  United have a fine player there and he'll be in the England side sooner rather than later.  Good luck to him I say.

It's generally acknowledged that various "add ons" formed part of the deal when we sold him, so surely we should be very keen for him to do well at ManU.
