What is the best football related story you tell down the pub?

Be it a great match, funny football experience, meeting of a player/s, being mistaken for a player, funniest place you have spotted a player, tale of your own football endeavours, memory of Fulham etc.

I wish I had written that

I will be as good as I can be and when I cross the finishing line I will see what it got me

On that note, though a bit off-tpoc. I have a friend who of all things are a Juve-fan. He was so sure that Juve would advance that wonderful day last year. Cocky may be the word. Almost every time I see him now I just mention 4-1...

There was a time I dated Tony Cascarinos (Millwall) girlfriend on the side.

I have never been so afraid of answering the doorbell in my life...

When my late wife was seriously ill we received a "get well" card from Johnny Haynes. You have no idea what that meant to us during some very dark days.

I appreciate, Mr Finn, that I have two very close mates, namely LBno11 and Old Brown Shoe, for arranging it. This card was followed by one from Tosh Chamberlain. They didn't have to do it but how thoughtful was it from all concerned?
