Fulham striker Dalla Valle to train with Cherries

6:48pm Thursday 3rd March 2011

Comments(2)  By Neil Perrett »

FULHAM striker Lauri Dalla Valle has been invited to train with Cherries as boss Lee Bradbury continues his search for new recruits.

The 19-year-old is tomorrow set to link up with Bradbury's squad at Canford School and could be a possible loan target for the club.

Dalla Valle signed a three-and-a-half year deal with Liverpool in November 2007 and starred as the Reds reached the 2009 FA Youth Cup final.

The Finnish teenager, who was also a target for Chelsea, moved to Craven Cottage at the start of this season as part of the deal that took Paul Konchesky in the opposite direction.

Meanwhile, in a surprise move, Cherries midfielder Harry Arter has joined Carlisle United on a month's loan.

A summer signing from Woking, Arter has been restricted to just 15 appearances this term, nine of which came from the bench.

And with Mark Molesley on the verge of a return, Cherries boss Bradbury agreed to Arter's request to go out on loan.

Bradbury told the club website: "Harry is definitely a part of my long-term plans but he is going out on loan because he can't break into the team and that shows the strength in depth we have got. We want to keep everyone happy and we felt this was a good move for him."

The Londoner will not be eligible for the League One match against Cherries on March 19.

zzamora

hope he moves. rate him,but he needs playing time

White Noise

Agreed. Its a good standard of football played there and they are second in the league so he will be playing as part of a winning team. Seeing how well Keanu Marsh-Brown has settled into that division you would hope Dalla Valle would make a decent impact.

Matt

Kacaniklic should go out on a loan as well, we need those guys to get some experience.
Oh you lucky people, we're the best team in the land!

Burt

Yes, agree, a good move in terms of getting more regular competitive experience.

LBNo11

...hmmm! our CEO Mr McIntosh is a Cherries fan - nah! just a coincidence I'm sure.. :dft012:

Tom

This is a good move. He needs playing time with a first team to get more experience under his belt.
Fulham for life!

Blimey. That didn't take them long to decide -

If Hughes isn't going to play him, then hell yeah, get him some game time elsewhere.

Interesting to see that Balckburn are giving their 19 year old, untried, foreign forward a start against us as they battle relegation while we have sent ours down two divisions on loan. Can we read anything into this?

Rochina ready for Blackburn debut

Former Barcelona B striker Ruben Rochina is named in the Blackburn squad for the first time for their visit to Fulham.

The Spain Under-19 international's arrival in the group is a timely boost for manager Steve Kean, as frontman Roque Santa Cruz is doubtful because of a back problem.

Christopher Samba returns in defence after a virus while Junior Hoilett is expected to recover from a hamstring strain, but centre-back Ryan Nelsen (suspension) and midfielder David Dunn (hip) are out.

Team (from): Robinson, Salgado, Samba, Givet, Olsson, Andrews, J Jones, MB Diouf, Santa Cruz, Pedersen, Bunn, Hanley, Emerton, Nzonzi, Grella, Benjani, Hoilett, Roberts, Kalinic, Rochina.

'Can we read anything into this?'

They have a dearth of strikers and for once we don't. One would hope the HHs will have him for breakfast.

Bradbury happy with loan deal

Cherries secure Fulham striker on a month's loan

Last updated: 4th March 2011

Bournemouth manager Lee Bradbury is confident Lauri Dalla Valle will be a 'great asset' after signing the striker on loan.

Skysports.com revealed earlier on Friday that the Cherries had lined up a deal to bring in the Fulham youngster on loan for a month.

Dalla Valle has now completed his switch to the League One club and Bradbury is looking forward to the opportunity of working with the Finn.

"It's brilliant for us and I'm really pleased," Bradbury told the club's official website. "He's come here and given extra strength to the squad and it will invigorate everyone.

Hungry
"He's a quick player who can play off our front men. He has a really good work rate and he can stretch the line. He can score goals and he will be a great asset for us

"He is very hungry to play and he will want to prove a point to Fulham that he is capable of being in their squad.

"For him to come down to a League One club from the Premier League shows how hungry he is.

"He has a lot of self belief and it's a good opportunity for him and this can only be good for us because it can help push us on."

Out of curiosity, what do people think about giving him a contract extension? If the article is correct it expires in May. It would be nice to hold onto a promising youngster for a bit longer. He could have a lot riding on this loan move, hope he takes advantage.

He's contracted to us until 2013.

Ah, very good. Thanks for that.

IIRC, Bournemouth play an attractive passing style of football. If so, this is a good deal all round.

Hopefully a calculated move to get him some first team football.
