Five Mexico internationals have tested positive for the banned substance clenbuterol.

The players named are goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa, defenders Francisco Rodriguez and Edgar Duenas and midfielders Antonio Naelson 'Sinha' and Christian Bermudez.

Mexico are currently taking part in Concacaf Gold Cup in the United States.

They beat El Salvador 5-0 in their opening match and face Cuba on Thursday in Charlotte, North Carolina.

More to follow.

They have also been suspended by the Mexican team. It is being suggested that they tested positive after eating Mexican meat. Please feel free to insert your own ladyboy jokes here.

Mr Fulham

The lads are unlucky, aren't they? First the tranny story....and now doping?

It's set up for a USA - Mexico final I notice!

As a well known football podcaster in the UK would say: woof! I'd watch that. Hernandez v Dempsey - nice.

Aren't you all glad we didn't sign ochoa? I am fondly remembering how everyone was clamoring for him just 5 months ago. Now he is caught up in this mess.

On another note I am really hoping for another US v Mexico final, just to prove that 2 yrs ago was rubbish and our Confed Cup runner up squad would have drubbed them
Some people are literally too stupid to insult

They are all cheating scum... end of.

But it sounds to me like a false positive.

I must be the only american that doesn't start to  foaming at the mouth whenever mexico is mentioned.  Cut'em some slack, they live in our shadow and they, being a proud people, hate it.  we regularly beat them at "their" game and it makes them a tad tetchy.  Who can blame them it they get over excited..er...passionate.  I lived in arizona and went allover mexico (no pun intended) and always had a great time and meet some really nice people.  That being said there things that you don't do because you'll only make life hard on yourself.  You don't go to mexico city, put on your usa shirt and take a long stroll to the azteca.  You don't joke around with the ferderales, because they much like the polizi have nothing close to a sense  of humour  and carry large cans of whuppass they like opening on young, dumb, drunk americans.  You don't cross the border and immediately start asking every man you see if you can "take out his girlfriend".  And you never ever get drunk on tecate and tequila and go driving your jeep in the desert with three hippies from malibu and several ounces of peyote.  Don't eat any of the street food because the meat in that little taco might be beef, or it might not. Wear long trousers if you want to be taken seriously by the locals, belive me you'll get treated nicer if you show a little cultural respect.  So cover up those pasty legs and give the mexicans a break.

Well said, sir. When not living in foreign climes -- England, Greece, Germany, Vietnam, Mississippi, Maryland -- I've spent my life in states bordering with Mexico. The only thing I don't like about Mexico is El Tri.

I understand HD, I just never got that gut burning hate for them.  I don't  mind watching them when it isn't against the US.  I hope the USA beats them 6-nil, but against other teams I'll watch, some of them do "try  099.gif " and you can't say they don't play with passion.

P.S.  Don I need a new CD and I keep messing up the link or something. can you PM the bands link?
