Mexico shoots up 19 spots... to 9th. US drops 2 spots to 24th
That seems to be a bit excessive doesn't it? After all US was in the CONCACONGACAFCOFFEE final as well  :032:

FIFA rankings never bear any proximity to reality.

I'd love to know the methodology, because those rankings really are madness.

I spose it must be our (England's) ability to scrape wins against mid ranking countries in friendlies that racks up the points.

Het klasseringsysteem

De FIFA/Coca-Cola Wereldranglijst evalueert de volgende wedstrijden die worden gespeeld door het nationale A-team:

· World Cup wedstrijden
· World Cup kwalificatiewedstrijden
· FIFA Confederation Cup wedstrijden
· continentale eindtoernooi wedstrijden (bij ons EK)
· continentale kwalificatiewedstrijden
· vriendschappelijke wedstrijden

De berekening van het aantal punten per team voor een bepaalde wedstrijd is gebaseerd op de volgende vijf criteria:
· winst, gelijkspel en verlies
· aantal doelpunten
· thuis- of uitwedstrijd
· belang van de wedstrijd (vermenigvuldig factor)
· regionale verhouding teams onderling (vermenigvuldig factor)

:)

methodology:
result
number of goals
home or away
importance of the game (multiplying factor)
regional difference (multiplying factor)

And:
Number of Brown Envelopes
Perceived ability to stop claiming FIFA is corrupt
Inverse of likelihood of ever hosting the world cup again (multiplying factor)

I am surprised FIFA hasn't bumped England down to just above the Faroe Islands, given what has been going on.

This is such a joke... England ahead of Brazil, and Mexico ahead of Argentina.  And this is only in the top 10

Maybe there's a "Shagging Prostitutes" element that gives Mexico it's boost for this ranking. Or possbily a "Total number of player suspensions for a given time period". I believe they're up to 13 or 14 players suspended in the last month.
