Cristian Zaccardo, Cavaliere Ufficiale OMRI,[1][2] (born December 21, 1981 in Formigine, Modena) is an Italian World Cup-winning footballer, who plays for Italian Serie A club Parma. He plays primarily as a right full back but is also capable of playing at centre back.

Hide Club career

One of the best products of the Bologna youth system, Zaccardo debuted in the first team in 2001, under the direction of coach Francesco Guidolin, immediately becoming a regular for the rossoblu and Italy's "Under 21" national team. He left Bologna in 2004 to join his former coach Guidolin in Palermo. After a season spent in Germany at VfL Wolfsburg,[3] in August 2009 he rejoined his former coach Guidolin

Still past it and deffo no upgrade to Bairdinho. I reckon Clyne would also be available for less then 3-4m.

Well Cristian Zaccardo was very good in Palermo. Don't know much about his spell in Germany but I don't really believe Italian full-back will bring us safeness in defense. Almost all Italian players find it hard to settle in England. He would get lost in EPL game tempo. And he is about 30, I would prefer some younger player to come.
